And do not forget to do some recording for reamp with the old FW and your favorite presets, to compare with the new FW. Because the perceived changes may be more self-induced placebo than what you think.
I have downloaded the latest version of his presets, and when I try to replace the existing ones I note that the new ones are dated 1980. LOL! What is wrong with his computer's clock? :D
The Var-Q EQ types are available at the Amp Block Output EQ, but the Q control seems to be missing at both Axe-Edit and the Font Panel
BTW: I cannot find the Master-Q control for the regular GEQ block at the Axe-FX front panel, only at Axe-Edit.

I was about to post the same wish, but I have found this thread.
The frequencies are 400, 800, 1.2k, 1.6k, 2k, 2.5k, 4k

Here is the Axe-FXIII FW25.00 beta version. CPU is below 42%, so it shouldn't be a problem to convert to FM3 or FM9. It sounds brutalz.
I have converted it with the proscribed FracTool, resetted the amp block, and restored the relevant parameters manually.
Hi Marco. Thank you for the tutorial. It contains very valuable information.
I purchased your MF Joe preset a while ago. The first thing I notice starting to watch your video is that the AMP settings on Scene 6 are not the same. Have you released new version of the preset?
My preset...
I do not notice difference in audio quality, but there is a huge difference in comfort. The Hifiman with their lighter weight and the double headband are much more comfortable than the Audeze LCD-2.
With the LCD-2 you have to maintain the head straight as the Lady of Elche. I've dropped the...
I correct myself. As I said at this post, I have replaced my broken Audeze LCD-2 rosewood ($1,100) with the Hifiman Ananda Nano ($500), and I couldn't be more happy. As good as the LCD-2, but more comfortable to wear.
Interesting. I've always installed non-electrolytic caps with the numbers facing my POV
There is a rationale at the video. It is not "polarity" (the answer to the OP question at the title is: "no, they do not all have polarity"). It is about the correct orientation, to avoid exposure of the...
I have reamped a track with my favorite JS410 Lead Red preset that I recorded yesterday with the previous FW.
No remarkable changes after upgrading to FW25 without resetting the AMP
Slightly darker, losing clarity on the highs, after restetting the AMP (keeping the main parameters intact)...
Good question. It would be interesting to know if they have evolved through the FW updates, or if they have been a canonical virtual constant since their immaculate conception :D
LONG LIVE FAS MODELS!!
We shall replace "Tuba" with "phhhhhhhhtttt snap".
Phhhhhhhhtttt snap mirum spargens sonum
per sepulcra regionum,
coget omnes ante thronum
The translation would be:
The "phhhhhhhhtttt snap" will send its wondrous sound throughout the sepulchres of the earth, and gather all before the throne.
According to the reviews, the differences seem to be just small nuances expressed in audiophile-anal-jargon. I haven't heard of anyone really dissatisfied with any of them. So I was initially interested in the basic model. What made me change my mind and choose the Ananda Nano was the headband...
Issue happily solved after opening a new instance of AxeCapture. After that, the old instances can be used without errors.
Than you for your kind support, @GlennO
Yes, the USB connection is good. I've tried two high-quality cables. Cakewalk also sees the Axe-FX as MIDI device.
It works to capture presets, and these newly captured presets can be restored. It doesn't work with presets previously captured. Could that be because these presets used an older...
I have received the Hifiman Ananda Nano ($500 on Shopee). I do not have the LCD-2 to make an accurate A/B comparison, but I am entirely satisfied with them. I've gone through my favorite reference records, and they are just perfect.
I do not miss anything from the LCD-2, even though I have been...
It is a Stereo Enhancer. I don't think it makes sense to use it in mono. It is Mono compatible, though, so no problem if you sum the signals

I use it very often, both live and on recordings.
What is the purpose of running it...
Eventide has a faceless version of the H9000. Not to save space, but to save cost.
H9000 $7,999
H9000R $5,999
That is not a crazy idea. If you're in the studio and the USB cable or the computer fails, you just replace it. C'est la vie. And if you are live and your presets are well tweaked...
Curious note: I've started testing the Marshalls mentioned here, using the Marshall preset that El Maestro @Burgs kindly shared here as a base. That preset uses a Dyna-Cab (screenshot below). After reading your post, I have selected Legacy #103 on Channel B with the Transformer preamp cranked...
What a coincidence. This morning I was listening to his interpretation of Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2. That concert is a culmination of the most profound human sentiments. On the antipodes of A"I"
When you open that block on FM3 you can only see the first two CABs. For those having only the FM3, here is the full picture on the Axe-FX III:
I have downsized it to the FM3 by using only the Ribbon and the Condenser, not the Dynamic. Like this:
Then added some preamp like this:
It sounds...
And the people that just makes 100% AI generated music, will they call themselves "musicians", like some DJs do? And what is worst: will people respect them and adore them as much as they venerate DJs?
I've always been reticent to say that I cannot hear jazz for fear of being considered a brute lowbrow, but now I can just say: "Please, stop that! I'm allergic to shit sandwiches!" :D
How would you set different types of amps, or drives, or delays, or any other effect in different scenes without channels?
How would you save these specific settings (channels) to be used in other presets?
I have the "No connection" error again when opening an existing capture on Cakewalk

Axe-FX III MIDI In and Out are disabled

The cost of the repair is about half the price of the headphones. And considering the shipping expenses back and forth from Thailand to the US, plus import duties and VAT (Thai customs do not forgive, even if it is a repair), it would be near o above the price of a new one.
I let them uncovered and dismounted for cleaning and replacing pads. The powerful magnet attracted a metal piece that crushed on the fragile membrane
I've found that the driver "PCB coil" is broken at only one point. Any idea about how to fix that?
I don't know if soldering would do it...
A tragic accident. Don't ask me how it happened. 😰😰😰
These have been my favorite reference headphones for more than 10 years. A trustful and neutral replacement of studio monitors.
I made a great sacrifice spending $1,100 at that time. Really worth it, specially for the Axe-FX, but I would...

Mac : http://archive.axefx.fr/Tools/FracTool.pkg
Use at your own risk (it is harmless for looking into the preset parameters, as the OP needs, or if you know what you are doing)
For Windows I use the free app Greenshot. You can easily capture one region or window, and use a hotkey to keep capturing that the last region (useful to consecutively capture different screenshots of FM3-Edit)
Great work, @Dixiethedog 👍
Another way is to open the presets with FracTool and look at the parameters. FracTool can open any preset and show all settings without connecting the unit.
Exactly. I never understood the need of having these global settings. Having to tweak all your presets at the gig is a sign that you did not do your homework properly.
Of course you can. What is the line output connector of your tape? RCA?
Just connect it to input 2 L/R on the rear side of the Axe-FX, and select that USB input on your software

I've browsed an old backup, and I am surprised to see myself playing a BC-Rich. I totally forgot that😅. It was borrowed.

For smooth and non-ear-piercing lead melodies I have been using the Marshall JS410 Lead Red for a long time.
IR selection is crucial (something that poor Vai doesn't have the privilege to play with :D ). For me the choice is Vinai T: Emotive Tones from LiveReadySounds
His presets are a mess and a waste of time. No organization. Furthermore, they are labeled as for FM3, but many are not. After wasting a lot of time, none of them has been useful to me.
I bought them because I liked the tone of one of his demos, but I couldn't find that particular preset. I...
You can always use a "global" supplier 😂
Just be careful if you order the white one, because the logo seems to be printed in white. Faithful to the original!! 😂 😂
One of the several reasons why orchestras have conductors is stage latency. It can be up to 60ms.
Here is an interesting and very deep study on that topic.

Oh! How could I have missed this? Subscribed! Thank you very much for the contribution.
I've always been frustrated with 100% of the paid Gilmour presets that I have purchased, and I've got many. But tutorials like these are a priceless aid for the DIY way, which is always the best.
All over the years his tone has always been a distinctive and powerful wall of sound that doesn't require keyboards or a second guitarist
Off-Topic: Vinny Appice is THE F***** MACHINE
Depending on the mood, the song, the occasion, the planets... Steve Rothery, David Gilmour, Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Brian May, Steve Hackett, Roine Stolt, Jeff Beck, BB King, Van Halen, Hendrix, Vai... too many
That looks kinda like the Axe-FX Enhancer Block plus an IR convolution.
I am curious to know what would be the practical application for a guitar that can not already be achieved with the microphone/room/IR equation in stereo. Isn't that what creates the "spatial sensation"? (call it "3D deep...

The ATH-M50x are a WOW! for listening some music or monitoring vocals, but they are a WTF? for critical listening, e.g.: tweaking the Axe-FX or mixing/producing at the DAW and compare it with what I hear though the studio monitors (I have one pair of Mackie HR824 and another of Genelec)
Here...
My only trick is to use the Audeze LCD-2. No need of any tweaking tip. What I hear though these headphones faithfully translates to studio monitors or PA. I have had many of the most popular studio headphones, from ATH-50Mx to whatever, but they have all colored the sound in one way or another.
