Using Compression for metal (Bulb style)

I cleaned it up a bit and I'd have to say comparing the pre and post patches the one with the setup above does help me come through the mix quite well. I don't know if I've got the 'BBE' syndrome going on right now but I'm happy with the results.

Marshall did some extra mods to it and I'll never get what I paid for it so it sits in my rig as a backup. But since I sold my GRX-4, no loop to run it in and my patches are setup for it anymore. But it beats the hell out of lugging my full 8space and 2space rack. LOL

It possible to "DOUBLE" your guitar signal

+1 I do that with a Das Metal or SLO100 left and a Blue Jr. right, cleans up nice and tight. Kinda like a WD instead of WDW. :mrgreen:

Right now my globals are set to none without an fx loop and I dig the tone. From memory I thought I had the FXloop as the first in the chain correct? Any other things that would need to be done? I'd love to A/B this and any steps you could provide would be extremely helpful.

Java can you elaborate on doing this? I recall you helping me use the Ultra fx loop with my MP-1. Are you saying use this as well with a tube amp? Currently I run a 2/50/2 into the Ultra with amps/cabs not using a loop.

If you're searching for a great double tracked sound..

I use a heavy amp in row 1 (Das Metal) and then in row 2 I use a Jr. Blues to add clarity and clean it up a bit. Works great for me. :)

Java, it's funny you mentioned scarr and v 4.x. Granted I'm ony at 6.x but I had the best response with pitch as well as whammy with v 4.18 I believe. I'm going to try moving it before the amp and see what happens. Good suggestion.

I remember seeing something somewhere (Scott P, I think) about guys setting up delay so that as the trails come thru after striking a note, you can add some umph to them allowing you to get more sustain thru the trails or certain notes (say a high gain pass) geting a boost not on the initial...

can someone explain tap tempo with Ultra and GCP?

I noticed a lot of folks are using this method but I have absolutely no clue how to set this up. I'm trying to setup delay trails to the drummers beat as well as flange swooshes (for lack of a better term). I know you're suppose to tap the controller. Currently I use the 4 patch 8 IA method...

Many moons ago I spoke with Java on the phone and he walked me through how to setup both outputs on my Ultra so 1 goes out to my cabs and 1 goes to FOH. I remember something about adding a filter and then... course I could be way off base to start. :D Anyone have any tips on this? Maybe wiki...

I run Sonar 7 Studio from rig to Mackie VLZ1202Pro to M-Audio Delta66. Works like a charm. I'm pretty sure most sound cards come bundled with an LE version of some music software.

I run my Axe with my modded ProRackG fine. However I run a 3TM modded MP-1 into the ISP only. My Ultra is outside the ISP. If I'm using the Ultra without the MP-1, I use the gate on it and it seems to work fine. Not sure if this will give you something or not but here is the layout for my...

I'm in the process of reconfiguring my GCP and Expression pedal and can't understand my notes I have from speaking with you on the phone. I'm trying to calibrate a patch to use the pedal to adjust volume. So I added a volume block at the end of my chain. I set the GCP to that particular patch...
