FM3 Firmware Version 8.00 beta 1

Long time FAS user here, can I say that in all my FAS years this might be the best sounding firmware update to date? The Mesa amps sound monsterous and with the Horizon drive pedal in the front it sounds like the amp is about to explode. Super awesome. Thanks again for all that you do Cliff and Co.!

Pitch Block - Pick Attack?

I'm right there with you... in my brain, maybe having something like that 'pre-delay' but built into the Pitch Block where you can allow the the first millisecond or two to bleed through into the Pitch Block as well? I have no clue how hard it would be to implement or whether it's even possible.

It's an Ibanez SZ 520 with Bare Kunckle Cold Sweat pick-ups in the bridge and stock in the neck. I have six of the Ibanez SZ models and they all seem to run hot but I don't know how other guitars are supposed to sound. Maybe I've had bad luck only using the Ibanez SZ for most of my adult life...

Thanks for chiming in... I hav the delays set to Bypass Mode Mute FX In and I just checked and the Enhancer block doesn't have any Bypass option like the delay block does. As a test I deleted all blocks except for In 1 and Out 1 and I'm still bleeding red at 10db.

Everything looks good but I'm still clipping like crazy with 18db input pad and all blocks bypassed... Setting the input to -7db stops the clipping but the input to the amp doesn't sound as good. Just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong or maybe it's a bug?

Just implemented this technique with Whammy, Volume and Wah and it works great so far! One issue with this setup is that I think the Volume pedal in a distorted preset sounds much better after the amp/cab.... is it possible to set it up in this scenerio? Also, not sure if this is a 5.x beta...

Thank you for chiming in, I have not changed my strings in a bit but how would it only affect the FM3 tuning and not Polytune 3 or DAW tuning?

Another thing that I will add... is that most amp sims feel great but most sound dark. Which is what they probably sound like with the given mic in the given room. There's just something special about the Cameron CCV and the 6505 that I absolutely love! The two amp sims that I was disappointed...

Reamped tone always sounds worse

I had a similar situation years ago... every re-amp attempt sounded like it was overdriven and noisier than the 'original take'. Turns out that in my DAW (Sonar) I didn't have all the sampling setup correctly. Once I changed everything to 24bit (I think there were 3 or 4 settings) it was as good...

I'm glad to hear that I'm not just hearing things in saying that the Triple Rec does not sound like the Dual Rec... Much more low end clarity and thickness. Having everything set almost to noon on every dial except master (I think I have it set a little past noon on the gain) on the Red channel...
