My reaction after taking a break

Dude whatever works works. Some guys get great tones out of old pods. A LOT of records were recorded with them, and POD Farm or whatever it was called. If you play through a gorilla combo amp and get your tone so be it. Don't try to bend to the herd.

Ty Tabor used it all over the early king's x records. I have 2 of them, and they don't sound or respond like anything i've played. Low input on channel 2 is magical, just sustains for days. I've asked for one in the axe since the ultra days, so i'm thinking it wont make it anytime soon.

    Cutting Thru The Mix

All in the mids. And use less gain. I learned it pretty hard back in the 90's. I had a full refrigerator rack with a quad preamp all the fixin's, someone auditioned for another guitarist in the band and had a Slash half stack, and he handed me my lunch. I couldn't get my rig loud...

    Current state of music

Can look at it a few different ways. Now there are very few huge bands like back in the day. Nobody but the top 1% are making money on streaming, there is no tour support, etc, etc.... can go on. The mp3 killed the business model. IMHO YMMV.

Never have, I use strictly elixir's and knock on wood, never have. I change them regardless before a big show, but for smaller ones, I let them go months. I only play on my gig guitars at shows though, never practicing so I get longer lengths between changes. I have many other guitars...

IEM - Sennheiser G4 vs XSW?

none, you just network the transmitters together on the back with those ethernet cables, and you use one pack to scan, then sync it with that transmitter, and then it will ask you on the other devices do you want to accept the change.
  34. dpeterson

    Any DiMarzio paf 36 users?

Yep, I put the 36th or 35 anniversary in a few guitars. Have one in a les paul with the nickel cover, and have one in a Warren D Skull n Blood Charvel (no cover). They seem perfect actually. Nothing like the JB, which is a high output pickup. I personally don't like high output pickups...

IEM - Sennheiser G4 vs XSW?

No from my experience they never use it (stereo panning), and are confused by it. One transmitter can do 2 mono mixes with an additional pack. Yes antenna combiners are a must once you get past 2 systems. There are lots of RFVenue videos on youtube with him talking about it. I've...

IEM - Sennheiser G4 vs XSW?

If you stay with all g4's you can link them together and do a freq scan and get it to set everything automatically. it's pretty awesome, 1 person scans, sync's and it then tells the other transmitters to change to open frequencies. G4 really is pro level. If you are mono you can get some...

Antennas on IEM and Guitar Wireless

Those antennas are omni directional (pull 360 degrees around it), they need to be straight up and down or slightly tilted away from each (for diversity) antennas. You would be severely hampering the pickup on the antenna if its' sticking straight out the back stuck in a rack.

Floyd Rose Tuning / Temperature change expectations

Not really, it's just the construction of the neck. Some necks have stiffening rods etc. If the action is increasing it's bowing, you just have to maybe set it up between sets.. keep it out of the sun, or anything extreme (hot lights, direct sun).
  82. dpeterson

Floyd Rose Tuning / Temperature change expectations

It's not the floyd it's the wood in your instrument is what I think. Does it all the time to me, get guitars out at a gig, tune them, by the time it's time to play they need tuned again. It shouldn't move that much once the temp settles. Do you notice the neck moving much?

Do you think the Legacy Cabs will become obsolete now that we have the Dyna Cabs?

I'm used to using the proximity in the cab block to thicken it up a bit. This is gone in dynacabs as you are doing the proximity manually with the distance from the cab with the mic. but it's not the same amount. It's not super bassy but it just adds some low end girth, chunk if you will.
