Trying to find the lightest weight option for protecting axe fx 3

I have the 4U-Version of this one to house a patchbay and make connections on the front side. Ich have the same for 2 Matrix 1000 PowerAmps and in this case overheating looks critical in hot summer times. But not with the AXE. I like the light weight and the tight dimensions.

Maybe one of the MOOER GE-Series? Or one of the Hotone Amperos? I have a MOOER GE200. Easy little thing with loads of options. The Ampero is a little bigger and to me a bit better to operate. The Vol/Exp-Pedal has a better range. Soundwise are both not on Fractal-level. But to get a boost or a...

That's it. The extension you need to install with notepad++ is called 'compare'. Allows you to compare long lists on the fly. Very helpful. I use it in other contexts. Big thumbs up. ;)

My dirty tones are harsh and Fizzy... any pointers?

Be sure your strings are not too old. Had this lately. I use Elixirs and thought they where still ok. But they were not. Top end was harsh on distorted tones. Clean tones were not as bad, but waaay better after restringing, too. But I'm sure you're not as dumb as me ... Sent from my phone

Finally about to upgrade from the Axe Ultra to the Axe II

Had the ULTRA. Sounded great especially with the MATRIX poweramp. Got the XL. Huge difference for me. Big step forward. Never looked back.

Unfortunately resetting didn't do it for me. So I suspect it will not do it for you either. Error 14 is a problem with the firmware. If you can manage to install the firmware once again, you should be done. I saw the AXE stuck with Error 14, so that no actions were possible. The powering on with...

Hey! I had exactly the same problem. In the very same configuration (XL & MFCIII with FASLink & Midi connected). So I will tell you what I did. No garantie that it works. And if something strange happens ... don't blame on me ... :D For some reason I pressed button 6 while powering on. So...

Output 1 to FRFR... output 2 to mixer/board ??

If the distance between AXE and board is not too far, it's no problem to go with the 1/4 to the board. With longer distances, you might run into issues with hum or hiss. Just sayin. Good luck for the new experience.

Showing up to gigs that expect you to use a backline with the AxeFx...

Millenium here ... My friend did some measuring and said, that you have to be careful with the input signal not being too hot or the behringer DI will make weird things. I have one of the as backup, too. In my setup, I have two of these passive millenium DIs, because they where already there...

PHONIC maybe? Hi Hallstein, I use one of these PHONIC mini mixers. Nothing special. But very good to get the AXE, an MP3 player and the TV on the headphones. So I have all options for late night playing ... and I can even connect a little stereo sytem to get decent sound at bedroom level...

Hi Guido, Ich hab 2 verschiedene Cabs und einen Chorus und Stereo-Delay dahinter. Das macht bei mir stereo. Zeitverschiebung mach ich nicht, das beunruhigt mich immer etwas (besonders mit Kopfhörer). Du könntest aber auch den Stereo Enhancer mal probieren. Der macht was ähnliches. Viel Spaß!

Don't know what you need ... It's hard to tell if it fits your needs if we don't know them ... But some thoughts (imho!): - Built like a tank. - Expression pedals are plastic and very lightweight (don't like them very much) but they work great. - Programming the FCB is a pain in the a**...

What is the point having two Ultras live???

Yeah, there was a thread he described the setup. At this time he used one ULTRA for the right and one for the left side. Lots of effects, so 2 of them where required. In case of failure, the soundman could easily pan the remaining one to center. Don't know what he does these days. But maybe...

Thanks for the replies ... Hey guys, thanks for helping me out. My presets look a bit like Scotts. There's one row with some blocks in parallel sometimes. To extend the grid I use send - return. And I think that the connection of Out2 "activates" the external effect loop "automatically"...

The "official" AxeFx has made me a better player thread.

Got a comment from my bandmates lately. They said that my fight against the instrument would be way less obvious these days ... :lol :? :oops :roll (I'm sure they did it for the best ... and meant it as a compliment ...). But hey, at least this thing opened my ears and my mind. Not to forget...

Hey Cliff ! Any new chrismas firmware ??

I think this will not happen. Cliff - our beloved master - has the ability to give us christmas several times during the year. As he's getting older, he can't keep up with the frequently updates of the early days :roll: . But there's still no need to give us christmas at christmas. Trust me...

Powering the axe-fx for a rehearsal

You can plug the output of the AXE in the return of your amp. Will work fine. Don't forget to disable the cab-sims or it may sound weird. Have fun!

:cry: I know ... Little update: rehearsal went very well. Little adjustments in volume, gain and low cut were all I had to do. Far from being lost ... And it sounded killer. I thought that this bridge pu on my strat actually was too picky. Now I know it is not. It works very well with low gain...
