Using an expression pedals for multiple changes?

So far it's working as I wanted it to. The only snag I'm finding is that the effects are totally off heel back. Any ideas?

Using an expression pedals for multiple changes?

Just to clarify, I'm only fading multiple fx in and out at once. I use completely separate scenes for each amp. The patch is set up as a giant rig where all the amps share the same pre and post amp fx. I use scenes 1-4 for each amp sound (x and y of amp 1 and 2 blocks respectively). If I...

Using an expression pedals for multiple changes?

Your first suggestion is what I'm looking for. In my presets, all four scenes have the same effects available, some have x and y statuses but they all have the same basics. I play a pretty broad range of stuff in one night so I usually have a Fender Twin, Vox, Plex, and Hot Rod Marshall tone...

Using an expression pedals for multiple changes?

Live, when I go into a solo, I engage a parametric eq set to null for a clean boost, engage a drive, eq, reverb, delay, pitch, or whatever fx I want for that particular patch I have active in a scene. Is it possible to use an expression pedal to fade these "lead" fx at the levels I want at...

Do you guys use scenes or patches to change "channels"?

I really like using scenes because of the "memory" of fx on and off status. If I know that I need a special effect on the solo for the song I can click to my lead scene before the song starts and engage that effect. Then I go back to my clean or rhythm sound and when I click back to the lead...

Your tips for less sponginess with RECTO ?

Like many have said. Lower the master, add a drive, and pre-post eq to taste. I will add that the IR you use it VERY important to Recto heaven in my experience. Also, cutting the lows on the tone controls helps. Presence is an important control for setting the "grainy" level of the drive...

So I played through a Two Rock combo yesterday.....

This. I keep trying different tube rigs from time to time to see if I'm missing anything and each time I'm disappointed. FRFR: How do you position your speaker?

I use a Mackie powered wedge for monitoring on stage and I position it however I can get the best coverage. Usually that is in a traditional wedge position, on the floor in front of me. If we play a super small stage area I have been known to put the wedge on one side of me at waist height...

Petrucci interview in Premier Guitar: no mention of the Axe-FX

This is just a guess but I would assume that John probably doesn't use the Axe Fx in the studio that much. When you're set up in the studio for weeks on end where things can be set up and tweaked forever you usually don't worry about space / cartage concerns which is why the Axe Fx has become...

Is it common to use reverb on high gain presets?

I think it depends on how you are using the Axe Fx. Through a power amp and cab I wouldn't use any verb on high gain patches. Going frfr (or through an iso cab) I definitely add a little in to get some room 3d - ness in there.

    Best Practices: Preset Ordering

I'm very visual and since the MFC has three rows I have the bottom row variations of cleans, the second row variations of crunchy / dirty rhythms, and the top row is lead tones. The next bank up repeats, with either a different set of rows or the same set tweaked for a particular guitar.

I've gone through a lot of rigs to try and get where I am comfortably now with my II. Before it was a Standard. Before it was like a rewind of Namm shows on Youtube. Each rig before the Axe Fx had a serious enough drawback that I had to move on. A lot of them were weight or complexity.
