The Fryette is the best amp I've used for the AX8. I havent't tried the PS170, but I did try a SLA2, Matrix 800, Quilter TB and several amp fx returns. If you are going to use a guitar cab, the Fryette is allot better than any SS solution IMO. It will give you a tube feel as well as feedback...

How do you power your real guitar cabs?

To this point the quilter pro block 200 into a pure 64 1x12 loaded with a 12L is the best “amp” feel I’ve had. I hate FRFR and need my setup to be amp like, so the ampiness of the quilter and an EQ get me closer to forgetting my tube amps.

Overwriting CS1 values on the unit?

I have my control switches set up as gain stages/channels of my amps, but find sometimes in rehearsal or on stage I need the range( lets say treble gain) to be different. Now that the treble gain is on CS1 I can no longer adjust it on the panel of the AX8. Is there a way to edit the treble gain...

I’m assuming this is a function of summed signals. Hard panning the outputs will likely cure this, but detaching the fx loop from the output rail eliminated my need for a work around.

"Eye in the Ax8" Ca3+ preset

Great job! I had an SE+ for quite a while and it was just a monster of an amp. Fender cleans to modern high gain, just a great amp. I just started playing with my new Ax8 and it was one of the presets I immediately saved to a bank. Thanks for the post.

AxeFx2 // Marshall DSL100HR head - FX loop issues

You are bypassing all of the pre amp when going through the FX Loop. You wont have any control of the amp other than the MV.
