**HELP** - USB audio dropping out when using AXE Fx III as audio interface

Same for me. Apple Mac Studio disconnects from the Axe FX III, and I can’t connect via Axe Edit. The only thing that brings the connection back is to power down the Axe FX III and restart it. When I first started using the Mac Studio, I didn’t have any issues. Same O/S since then too.

Am I Clipping the Compressor?

I have the same thing happen with my Music Man Majesty (not boosted), with the input set at 5%. It doesn’t even tickle the red with normal playing. But I get drop outs when I dig in. This is directly on the input of the AFX3, without a compressor involved. It’s just the way it works...

I use the Audeze LCD-X’s and they sound very similar to my FRFR and studio monitors. I like them because they are open back, and don’t have that pressure build-up that can happen with lower tones.

This isn’t entirely true. For some applications where distances are very long, you have an alternative to use networks to transmit and receive the USB data. I use a networked USB device server and it works fine. I have a USB hub connected to it as well, so I’m not limited to just two devices...

In my opinion, it’s less expensive than replacing gear. I don’t really think about the electrical bill as being part of the equation though. It’s usually about what’s easiest and fits with my workflow, plus keeping things running.

As I said, I usually notate along the way, to identify the presets I like. In this particular case, I missed marking something that I tweaked and had saved. Of course, renaming the preset takes just a few seconds, but again, I'm an old guy that occasionally opens a new browser, then forgets why.

Have a look at factory preset 121, Back Line. This is setup with two different amps, panned left and right, using the balance knob in each amp block.

I did exactly this. Normal, black electrical tape is almost exactly the width of the logo, without covering the "Preamp/Effects Processor" words. Works well, in that you can look at the display in darker settings, without getting blinded by the logo.

Yes, they have input volume adjustments. There's a physical knob to adjust though. So, it's really easy to adjust. With Axe FX III, I have to dive into menus to make the changes, every time.
