    @unix-guy You're right in this situation that the mechanical approach is not only simple but also the best. Even if I succeed with a software approach, if I mashed the knob down it would still go into the tuner mode and I would still have to do a dance to get out. Thanks everyone for you input!

    I've had it happen on my FM3, I didn't lose it and superglued it back on taking care to not let any run down the shaft. I believe it happened not so much from kicking it, but rather from dragging it back after stomping on it.

    The gain on both global Eq's are the same, some minor variations on the graphic bands. I would say right now I'm seeing about 13db difference. Gauging from your questions it seems that the two should be able to match the output.
