Just bought some EV PXM - 12MP’s

Took delivery of a couple of PXM's a few days ago. Yesterday was the first time I could really wind them out. Monitor 1 - mmm...analytical - too much so for my liking. Monitor 2 is better. Might tweak the treble a little to suit my ears, but I'll give them a few months to break in before I go...

Acoustic / Electric Plectrum Preference?

For intricate acoustic stuff, if not my fingers, a modified Tortex Standard .6mm and for everything else a Brass Teckpick. I used to use a 1mm Tortex Flex, but tried the Teckpick and loved it.

Just bought one a few months ago to replace one of my MX Masters - I bought two of them in 2015 for work and I wore through the plastic thumbrest on one, other than that, those older MX Masters never once let me down. Super accurate. Great switches. These newer versions are better still. :0)

Are artist presets proprietary?

“Prevents them” from sharing an artists presets? ..Common decency, probably. Sharing a preset without permission is kinda the equivalent of pulling an authors latest draft off his laptop and posting it online because someone might find it interesting. I can’t imagine any professional company...

Line6 G10 with Ibanez S-series input jack?

I have an older (1999?), prestige saber - bubinga top, and the g10 Mkii fits. Works, brighter sounding than using a cable. From what I recall, the original G10 doesn’t fit, but the Mkll does.

More Musical Studio Monitors

I currently use the Adam A7X‘s but I previously used a pair of KRK VXT6’s which sounded much more rounded and pleasant to my ears. The accuracy/outlay of the Adams is the reason why I’m using them.. but.. for enjoyment, and just listening to music etc.. the VXTs.

Help me replace my ancient studio monitors!

The KRK VXT 6 and the A7X, are the better of what I have experience with. The VXT6s sound beautiful - more musical - though less critical - especially towards the top-end than do the A7Xs. But, if you gotsta have all that detail, then a well dialed-in (and broken-in) A7X will better get the job...

Look into Davinci Resolve (free version)... it's probably better than most anything out there for video editing; and, if you want to upgrade to the "Studio" version, you can actually buy it (and get a free controller), no subscription. The paid-for Studio version is yours with lifetime updates...

I have no experience with the fx2, though any standard midi device might work with the FM9? I stand to be corrected on that particular MFC unit though. You could go to Reverb (or etc.), to price resale of the stuff you want to get rid of? ..it would at least give you an idea of the ballpark...

I don't think it works like that. I might be wrong, but, in the past, the invitations didn't expire. So you would get priority if you accept even if you don't accept right away. BUT.. Fractal won't wait on you forever, and they will skip you if you do wait so they can fill orders further down...

Bought a couple of Hp Envy laptops about ten years ago. Replaced the batteries in both, and upgraded a hard drive in one, but they are still going strong. Like another has said, I always max out these builds. Cramming the better technology into these smaller frames might lower battery life, but...

Axe FX 3 Headphones output

Looked into it myself a few months ago. Can't remember any specs I found, but, in regards to the BD DT 1990s the consensus was that it drives these 250 ohm headphones well. And it does. No problems at all.

Not Really Digging Axe Thru Headphones

There are HUGE differences in sound quality between headphones. Even between half-decent ones. I went from the Shure 1840s which sound wide open, airy and bright, to the BD DT1990s which sound much richer, more saturated, but much more closed in - to my ears, just massive differences in sound...

Effects to supplement your AxeFX 3?

Don't really need any. It's all in the box. Still, I use an MXR EQ and a Strymon Sunset, for on-the-fly EQ and Drive tweaks.

'Likely see more variables introduced by the types of signal transference into and out of the unit - quality of cables/connectors used into and out of the unit.. I think any tolerances to signal routed within the box would be unnoticeable if existent at all. Practically. No. I doubt there's any...

You can actually compensate for a lot of distracted drivers by assuming drivers are distracted, always having an out, and having a couple of tricks up your sleeve like brake light modulators and responsible use of the SIAM maneuver (for example) ..which ..works great! Better than headlight...

Question for those that sit at a desk with a daw, etc= Pretty regular!

My chairs have wheels. I use a shorter guitar cord with the slack taken up when sat at a desk. Not enough play to get caught on much of anything.
