TOOL Adam Jones Undertow/Aenima presets?

Well from what I understand, he recorded Opiate with only his Marshall, Undertow and Aenima with a Mesa dual rectifier and his Marshall, and then Lateralus he started using the Diezel. I believe they were touring for Aenima when he got his VH4.

Cons to running Axe-Fx through traditional cab?

The option of keeping both options would be a win-win in my opinion. I think what I’ve decided on is to start out with the axe FX and a nice pair of Adam powered monitors as my initial investment, then eventually get a matrix poweramp to run though my 4x12.

If I decide on running a FRFR cab or monitors instead of a traditional cab, I don’t need a power-amp do I? Just straight axe-fx to monitors?

Those are all good points Johan. I respect the criticism completely. Monitors would probably suit me just fine, and if I ever did want anything louder, I could always buy something else. I’ll look into the Yamaha’s. Would I need to buy a pair of them?

It’s mostly more modern metal, 80’s metal, and blues. I think I’m leaning towards something like an alto ts12 or something similar, as long as the sound can be tamed, which from what I understand, it can be.
