TY TY TY. I got it to work both ways! Via using USB IN block below to Out 7. And then via Output 5 on DI track with Input 1 on AXE set to DIGITAL. In hindsight 20/20 I dont really fully understand what I did differently this time maybe I had the INs/Outs mixed up (probably!) Thinking...

I have two Friedman ASM12 and between the Yamaha HS8 and them I find the HS8 more of a satisying sound when at modest levels. When cranked the ASM12 really come to life. I have yet to test them without the grills that are held on with velcro... I keep meaning to but havent got around to...

THIS. I find that if you can cut through a backing track for the most part the balance will be pretty good. BUT... I'm not discarding what was said above by more experienced and actually gigging musicians say... I'm just saying that works great for me in my dungeon :)

When do you use an EQ block?

I tried this same setup on my AX8 (before I had the AXE III) .. output1 going to an ASM12 and output2 going to Mesa 50:50 and 4x12 but never thought to try what you are doing in your config. Thanks! I still have the latter and it sits next to my setup asking for me to play with it sometimes...

Thanks :) I will do just that! I know our ears are the #1 critic of good/bad tone but does the RTA come into play as well for determining how you EQ?

Interesting, as you said even with the new EQ page in the drive block... so many options that is why I posted this thread as my ears are definately not trained enough to know if my sound sucks and 'hey I need to add an EQ block here or there.' I've been so happy with the built in EQ...

Thank you I was under the same impression regarding 'never' using them.... yet sometimes I see PEQ in downloaded presets and wonder what was the reason for using it and why people do with so many sound shaping options already offered. I will lookup that resource, thx. Still want to hear...

With all the different places we can setup EQ...amp input/output, all the different places to low cut/hi cut.... Leaves me wondering... Just when do you toss an actual EQ block in the chain? I know there is no cut and dry answer I am looking for opinions :)

Yamaha HS8 Monitors

Got a Mackie Big Knob monitor/input controller setup last night so I finally played the AXE3 through my HS8 (which were only on the 6i6 previously) instead of only through my ASM12 monitors and I have to say I was really impressed, way better than I anticipated. I knew they sounded great...

Audio Interface

I struggle on this topic myself. AXE3 or 6i6 as the main AI. The reason I struggle with it is software likes to stop responding, and Windows 10 absolutely loves to get confused and decide NO AI will get to make any sounds and I have to start cycling the power on the AIs or bounce the PC...

Hand Cramping?

Fitness nut here...play hockey 3x week, lift 4 times a week...i just turned 50 and already starting to see the importance of pre game, pre lift, pre jamming stretches, warm up, etc and especially..... Like said above water water water and do not skip on a warm up routine or even aside from that...

Floyd Rose, fret buzz

I just had this same problem .... take that advice on the saddle... I chucked a whole new Floyd in mine to address...fixed it but more expensive solution by far.

I guess I'm guilty of being a gamer that found his way back to music and during the gaming era I learned to turn my nose downward to drives with moving parts... I haven't heard the clicks and ticks of old school HDs in like 4 years...whole house is SSD pretty much now.... So spinning large...

Bman totally been there and still get disappointed when family/friends just show no love but stay true to your passion and keep at it!! I finally got to enjoy it last night. I'm not qualified to give opinions based on my limited exposure to drum software (SD3 all I've ever installed really)...

Personal Studio Setup Confusion/Guidance Needed

Ended up ordering the Mackie Big Knob today. Going to have to undo my massive forest of zip ties and redo a bunch of cables as well as had to order the missing cables I needed... actually took a while to wrap my head around what to buy. For ASM12/AXE3: AXE3 out1 xlr female > 1/4 for Mackie...

First gripe... 400GB to download the libraries but then that is not installed 400GB it's just the media to unpack and install so I have (2) 512GB Samsung SSD... so when you consider 400GB + then having to run the install off that, then you need 400GB+ free to fully install on top of freeing up...
