Looking to recreate guitar sound from intro to "Take what you want"

Safe to use small Bass Head (class D) as SS amp for Axe + Guitar cab?

Sorry had a typo in the original post. Its 120W @ 8 ohms. It actually has 2 inputs so the cab can run in stereo at 16 ohms. Not sure if I could put it in 16ohm mode and then just use one input This is a pic of the back of the cab

How does the Axe-Fx III do as an audio interface?

I currently run my Axe FX III into a Apollo Twin via two XLR cables and then from the twin into my Mac. I don't use any of the UA plugins....it is really just a high priced way to mix my computer audio with guitar from the Axe for jamming. I'd like to sell the Apollo and simplify things a bit...

Any benefit/need for a DI box/preamp with the AX FX III?

But if one didn't own any of these DI boxes then purchasing one would be a bit of a waste? Sorry for the ignorance - I primarily use the AxeFX for guitar but am doing some fill in bass duty. My bass rig consists of a couple bass guitars and the Axe FX.

Probably a dumb question. I'm guessing the answer is no. BUT I'll ask anyways - is there any benefit to having a external preamp/di (sansamp, tonehammer etc) in front of the Axe FX III (passive bass). Or can the unit pretty much do anything they would do (except provide box specific color etc)...

Any bedroom only players using an Axe-Fx 3?

The AXE FX3 totally cured my GAS. No need to buy amps and cabs now! *Goes back to obsessively planning next guitar build and shopping for a 5 string bass. Oh and I need new studio monitors aaaand I should probably buy some bass traps, oh and I think I want to do a pickup swap in my strat. Hmm...

This is why I set up my presets to be used two ways. Output 1 goes to my (crappy and soon to be replaced) studio monitors. Output 3 goes to my solid state power amp and then into a 2x12 cab. Into a real cab it really does feel like I have a ton of awesome heads that I can use (some I like...

OK... I finally did it. Turned it on and tried it out

I hear ya man. I just got my Axe FX III a couple weeks ago and have been blown away. I even love it through my craptastic KRK monitors. Can't wait to hear the improvement when I upgrade studio monitors or buy a FRFR wedge. Also loving it through my power amp and cab....like having 400 guitar...

My favourite new power amp! Seymour Duncan Power Stage 170

I'm very curious to see how that works out for you! I run a 170 into a 2x12 Laney with V30s and like it, but I want a FRFR cab as well so I can play with the speaker models. Would also be nice to not have to worry about lf resonance etc

Did you ever get your Xitone? Would be curious to know how you feel it compares to the guitar cab/power amp. I ended up getting a Line 6 Powercab - I think it sounds pretty good but not 100% sold on it. Debating trying the powerstage 170 and a 2x12 Laney cab loaded with V30s.

I think I'm about to purchase the ISP Stealth power amp and a 2x12 cab that is wired to run in stereo. I figure I can use my studio monitors for FRFR testing and eventually by powered monitors if I like that better.
