OK, What's The Real Answer When It Comes To Cables?

Absolutely not worth the price but the quality is definitely high. Mogami cable is great, but Mogami cables (completed assemblies) are way overpriced.

Wet - Dry LIVE setup...will it work?

    Some documentation.

    Levels

You could try to adjust the pups on the Strat to be the same volume so you don't have to worry about it. If you were using a real amp and pedals, you would need to that.

Wet - Dry LIVE setup...will it work?

I’ve been using the Axe Fx II exclusively for 4 or 5 years now, even for my live setup. I play classic rock and am missing the ballsy tone of my Marshall DSL50. I know I could use the famed 4 Cable Method, but the fx loop sucks some of the chewy goodness from the amp. I also don’t want to have...

    Levels

It took me a while to figure this out. In the end, it doesn’t really matter HOW you set the levels as long as they “balance” with each other. The thing I learned late was that you can set individual scene volumes separately, both for main output (Output 1) and FX Loop (Output 2). What I do is...

OK, What's The Real Answer When It Comes To Cables?

To my mind, quality is far more important than fancy features (gold) and name brands (Monster). I am completely unimpressed with claims that one cable sounds better than the next. A cursory review of electrical capacity clearly shows the differences in sound between brands is illusory. So, for...

    Art SLA-2 cable questions

Not sure this is what you’re asking, but I’ve had bad experience(s) with speaker connections to the SLA2. Specifically, banana plugs falling out / dislodging during performance, especially at loud gig volume. I recommend you bolt a speaker wire to the SLA’s banana terminals and DON’T use an...

    Axe-fx with ART SLA2

Same here..Afx II into SLA2 into Avatar Vintage 212. I bridged the outputs, making it 200 watts. More than loud enough for 1000 plus seat shows, esp when mic’d, or DI’d (both is optimal). Sounds great; certainly no better than Matrix (which I have now ‘cause it’s much lighter). I used the FX...

Seymour Duncan or Matrix power amp?

Oh, I also play through a real guitar cab; an Avatar G212 Vintage with Celestion Vintage 30 and Celestion GC12H30. Great tone.

Seymour Duncan or Matrix power amp?

Not for nuthin', but I picked up a used Art SLA2 and couldn't be happier. Later, I picked up a Matrix GT800 hoping to improve the tone (not that it was lacking, mind you) and shed a little weight but, frankly, the SLA sounded a little better, so I sold the Matrix.

How do you guys get feedback?

Yes...i'm more comfortable with the ART. I think you're right on the ingredients for feedback, but i suppose it would work even with folding back thru a house wedge.

How do you guys get feedback?

Yes...speaker cabinet (ie real speakers). I had a matrix...squirrely. SLA sounds better and much cheaper. Yup much heavier, but i don't drag it all over town.

    FX Loop Issue: Guidance Needed

Slightly OT, but if i had to bring pedals, i wouldn’t use an Axe. So far, there’s nothing i haven’t been able to simulate with a little tweaking (and the use of info gleaned from this here forum!). Axe into slave into cabinet. Easy, effective.

How do you guys get feedback?

I don’t have trouble with it and get it in spades, to the point i’m having to control it, just like a real amp. i use an avatar 212 cabinet pushed by an art sla-2, though. I’m reasonably sure a cabinet is part of it.

Has anyone made a create your own travel case for the axe II?

I'm very happy with the budget version of an old-school-style 4-space SKB case I got on the 'bay from the seller SpeakersForMusic (I can't post a link yet). I've got my Axe II, Matrix GT800 and wireless unit all neat and tidy, plus there is a zippered net pouch on the back cover for storing my...

    Quantum 10 on Axe-Fx II Mk I?

I've been using 10 for weeks now...no issues.

    Quick double lead help

Fantastic work, Bakerman, but changing keys on the fly is not something I would ever fool with in a live setting on an intelligent harmonizer; the hardware can't really do it justice (though the Axe is one of the best at it). Add the poor tracking on bends and slurs and you're asking for...

    Where is the 2204 model?

Thank you SO MUCH. I had already installed the FW, but was going round and round trying to find the model. Perhaps I need to spend more time poking around inside the Axe (but it's so much fun just PLAYING it!). Thanks again!!

    Where is the 2204 model?

I've been looking for quite a while and can't figure out where and how to install the new 2204 model (one of my all time favs - thanks, Cliff!). It's not in the FW zip and not on the support page.
