What's this noise?

Was my suspicion as well. But it also occurs when not fretting the string as well as on other strings. Still doesn't rule out buzzing. Gonna bring the guitar in for a new setup this summer anyway.

What's this noise?

I noticed this high pitched shimmery noise around my sounds. Doesn't matter which patch. In the attached sample I am playing the factory preset "Shiver Clean" with all effects disengaged. Running FW 9.03. It is less apparent in the lower registers, but nevertheless it is omnipresent.

Feeding an analog synthesizer into the AX8

I'd like to play my Doepfer Dark Energy II desktop synthesizer through the AX8. But since the singal output is way higher with a synth than with a guitar, I'm wondering if this is a good idea. Is it possible to damage the AX8 by feeding a too strong signal into IN1? If it's okay to play a synth...
