Just with an axe fx II. If I turn on FracPad on my Mac without the axefxII on, the program will function, however as soon as the axefxII is turned on, FracPad crashes.

Improving home studio sound

I can verify that the Atrium Audio Pack from STL will cover this territory plus more in a heartbeat. If you want to go it on your own, I'd keep to the Uber model but really watch your power amp settings maybe play with the trem a little probably not going to need a lot of knob tweaking, after...

I’d mess with the speaker resonance curves. Should get you very close. Other thought is to toss it into your DAW and add a comp and eq through a bus. Guarentueed they did on the album, and who knows on any other recordings. Lastly cab lab, and a ton of tweaking could be your final answer. The ML...

Mess with the power amp settings till you get what you like. Are you using a 27" scale guitar with Alpha/Omegas? The guitar is a huge part of this tone. The ML IR's are about as good as it gets for this style though.

After 9.04 Firmware everything sounds super bad

I can say with first hand experience that he's using the BE-100 and Dirty Shirley models on this current tour. Didn't get into what IR's, but the ML mesa or djent packs should cover you there and honestly if you odnt have them, you should buy them anyway (they're that great). Cheers!

Very interesting! I know fractal sent him an AX8 to test out. I assumed he took it to europe with Intervals and Polyphia. I'm wotking on a LoneStar ear match of the triplecrown and will upload to this thread as soon as i feel like it's in a good place.

The new ML AC20 patch that fractal put out is fantastic. It'll take a tweak to get on an AX8, but shouldn't be too bad with frac-tool. I'd imagine it'll nail that tone pretty easily.

Need a more natural growl

What's your IR? What's your HP and LP set to? Also pay attention to the Speaker resonance, etc. You may need to boost the mids even more somewhere. You could also do a studio comp at the end of the chain and balance everything there.

You'll need to set the Cab block to something other than the "USER" sets that he has programmed. he suggests the OH MAR v30, but the above comments go through a few other good (and stock) options.

RAD! I have a Ibanez Hd-1000 that I'd be willing to image to help with that part of the mix. It also has a big sticker on the top of it with suggested settings for effect types. I'll snap a photo of that and upload when I'm at my studio tonight.

That’s VERY close to his live sound! Great job! Last I saw him, he was using a MESA triple crown and it was surprisingly clean. He’s touring Europe with a II-XL+ I think. Maybe if we ask nicely he’ll share his presets.
