Question about Ernie ball Musicman guitars

I believe that is the case, yes. The pickups on these guitars are direct mounted to the body, not installed into pickup rings. I've also looked into the possibility of adjusting the height of my Majesty pickups (also direct mount), and the answer I found was "not possible." That said, I only...

    Speaker Impedance Curves - Loadbox

I think Cliff added these loadbox curves primarily to enable users to more accurately compare their amps through a load box to the corresponding model in the Axe. For example, if I wanted to compare my 5153 Stealth to the Axe model, I’d use the LB-2 UK SIC in the 5153 Stealth amplifier block to...

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 23.03 Beta #1

Yes, but my point was, if it loads with the 6L6 tubes, it’s almost certainly (unless it’s a mistake somewhere) modeling the 6L6 amp. I believe there are other changes beyond just the power tubes to get to the EL34 or Stealth versions.

I think the trick is to find a guitar tone you really, consistently like, and reference it as needed--whether that's while dialing a tone or after turning on the machine and thinking "wtf what I doing when I created this preset"? Your post is a bit hard to follow. If you’re convinced something sounds so drastically different, your best approach would be to record a DI, then reamp it through FW22.x and FW23.x to compare. Memories are fickle. Probably best to post the preset too, because if something is unintentionally...

Deleted all presets, boot time the same

ok, then I don’t necessarily understand what your point was. Saying “it doesn’t take thaaaat long” doesn’t really have any bearing on the fact that at one point, erasing user presets resulted in quicker boot times, and now that doesn’t seem to be the case according to OP. Even if the overall...

I feel like this kinda misses OP’s point. Deleting presets previously did impact load time, and I don’t read any complaining in their post. DynaCab Pack Limited Public Beta

Funny! In lieu of having my go-to DynaCabs in CL4 (Recto Straight and Rumble 12L), I was playing with the AC20 and stumbled upon a very similar sweet spot. Usually, a 57 in the dead center is not a good tone (IMO), but the AC20 cab works with centered 57 very well.

Along this line, since the horizontal axis is different between the hardware and CL4, you have to recreate your DynaCabs by ear. The horizontal axis on the hardware is 0 to 10 (Cap to Edge). CL4 increments by cm (or inches) from 0cm (cap) to 12.7cm (edge) for a 12" speaker. So you have to...

  50. frankenbeans

    Citrus RV50 "Cut"

If you like that effect but want to refine it a bit for your own tastes, you can use the Input and Output EQs in the Amp block. I think the Cut filter is applied at the output, so tweaking the Output EQ will be closer to that effect. Tweaking the Input EQ can feel like throwing a boost in front.
  51. frankenbeans

    Citrus RV50 "Cut"

Curious about the fixed number of block types paradigm versus as many as the CPU can handle

Is this not how Helix works? The number of instances of a certain block isn't limited by anything more than the remaining DSP. Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

@Variable have you tried resetting your system settings? I know that might be a PITA, but it fixes an issue for me when every guitar of mine was clipping. After I did that reset, I can run my Majesty with the boost engaged without clipping.
  58. frankenbeans

Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

a bit rude and dismissive, no? if you read the OP, you'd know that they already have the input sensitivity set to near-0 and are using relatively low-output pups. to use your metaphor, we have the low fuel warning going off when the tank is nearly full... that would, indeed, be unexpected and...

Request: Can we turn off the "in1 clip" warning? It's ALWAYS there regardless of how the input level is set

If you won't lose too much, try reseting your System Parameters. I was having a similar problem, where even my low output guitars were clipping, and reseting the system settings helped. It wasn't a big deal for me since Input Sensitivity is really the only setting I adjust.

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 22.00 Release

I think that has to do with the MV taper. Cliff mentioned it was quite gradual. I’m having to boost the Output Level control in pretty much the same way that I do when I run a Recto model with the MV on 2. Seems fine to me, but I could always be wrong.

Riot boosting a Diezel??? Any chance you’d post the preset? I haven’t really found a voice for the SLO cab yet. So far, I really like the EV12L when using single coils or a bright amp and the Mesa Straight + Orange for humbuckers and high gain.

    Post Your Killer Dyna-Cab Setting!

The Rumble EVM12L is incredible. I’m using the ribbon and condenser. Condenser is very slightly off center and pulled back like 10cm. Ribbon is centered and pulled back like 6cm. Sounds good with everything. It may not be a great for a mix—it’s maybe too mellow—but it’s great for playing solo IMO.

    FM9 Firmware Version 4.01

Yeah, I understand that. I love the feel of the EBMM guitars, but I have definitely considered "gutting" them of their electronics. I think the Majesty is the only one that requires a battery to operate at all, but I haven't tested the other battery-equipped Balls in the stable to confirm that.
  77. frankenbeans

    FM9 Firmware Version 4.01

For anyone following along, be sure to see the edit. I can do that, but to your point, it doesn't seem my guitar is putting out 12Vpp. I connected my Majesty to my Klein MM400 DMM and set it to capture the maximum ac rms voltage. The DMM read 3.166VRMS, so just shy of 9Vpp. That was with the...
