Legacy Presets MASTER THREAD - AustinBuddy DREAMRIGS 1000+TonePack for AX8 and Axe-FX Mark II/XL/XL+

@austinbuddy I normally set my input pad to 0db for my Strat, and that's been working well. I notice in the setup videos you recommend setting the pad to 12db. My question is: If I set the input pad to 0db, is that equivalent to engaging your "drive" block for Strats? Thanks!

Master Volume changing on its own?

I recently snapped my master volume clear off the pedal, and that's what started happening. You might have a broken encoder pot. A quick fix is to assign the master volume parameter to a scene controller because it will override the knob.

    Speaker Comp with clean tones

Am I correct in assuming that using a clean tone will naturally lend itself to less speaker compression? There is a lot more compression available with my high gain patches.
  21. DanGuitarMan

    Speaker Comp with clean tones

Sag and modeling is on. There is a change but I always felt like there was some kind of make up gain or normalization going on when I turn the MV. Anyway, I digress :)
  22. DanGuitarMan

    Speaker Comp with clean tones

I will definitely try. I use Dirty Shirley, JC120, and direct for my main clean tones. The speaker comp behaves this way with both the JC and Shirley. I'm wondering what's the mechanism at work here, because changing the MV doesn't alter the perceived volume.
  23. DanGuitarMan

    Speaker Comp with clean tones

Perhaps, but I keep it relatively low and make sure to level match it so its not adding additional volume. If anything it would help drive the preamp more and make the speaker compress, right?
  24. DanGuitarMan

    Speaker Comp with clean tones

I have to crank the speaker comp parameter to 10 to achieve minimal compression while using my clean tones. I'm aiming for at least 3db, but I can only muster about 1.5db. For instance, I use the JC 120 for a gospel style clean. Pedal comp in front of the amp. Input gain is set around 3, or to...

    FRFR boxes

Horn-loaded and coaxial are two different topics. The cabinet of the CLR is shaped in to a horn which the woofer is mounted beneath. The woofer gets amplified further from that. No other FRFR has that.

    FRFR boxes

The CLR Neo MkII is the only FRFR that horn-loads the woofer. That fact alone separates it from the bunch. It's a completely different design than the others, which have direct radiating woofers. I haven't tried the others, so I can't compare, but the CLR is an experience. I'm a big fan of...
