AX8 through a DXR10, getting hum using 1/4 inch outs

I normally use Monster cables with my tube rig. They have the metal casings on the jacks. If I try to use them with the Ax8 they hum like crazy. Switched it out with a cheaper plastic one and the hum went away. I assume the metal was causing it, but that is just an guess.

Trying to Imagine the New User Experience

I have been following your story since the beginning. While I think it is very important to be know the ax8, my advice is to TRY axedit. It is so intuitive and easy to manage almost all of the issues you are having. Just my 2 cents. Continued good luck in your tone journey. :) Mark

In-ear-monitoring sounds totally different, help

Thanks thegrizman for the heads up on the iems. I ordered a pair. For $30 nothing to lose. I have a pair of $400 Shures that i hate. The sound of my rig in my ears has made me go back to tube amps/cabinets on stage and the Ax8 for recording only :(

Hey all, I'm experiencing a volume jump on scene 4 on this preset for some reason. I actually want a volume boost, as this is my lead scene, but I obviously want control over it. I'm sure it's user error. I always use an eq block post amp for a volume boost. Never had an issue. Can any of you...

Judas Priest tone

Ax8 for IR cab emulation

Anyone ever used an Ax8 for cab emulation only with a tube head (like a torpedo)? I have a loadbox and thought about running from the line out into the insert of the ax and using just IRs. Thought? Experiences? Any reason that I shouldn't try it? Thanks for your time, Mark

Thinking of making the switch to Fractal AX8

When i recently upgraded my Protools to 12 i basically got the 11R for free. It is no contest. The Ax8 WAY outperforms the 11r. Sounds, effects, ease of use, ect.

I received a reply when i asked for the rma number stating that it will be addressed in a future firmware update. No response yet on a timeframe for the update. Really sux. It's perfect for my needs, but i cannot play a show with a big, loud thud blasting thru the foh & our in ears. Hopefully...

I ordered and received the Atomic Ampli-Firebox and it sounded great. Honestly, it felt a little more "organic" than the Ax8, but it pops loudly when going from a/b. I'm not a roll ur volume guy, I need a switchable clean/dirty, so it's going back. The search continues :(

What wireless unit are you running with the AX8?

Line 6 G90 with a separate pack for each guitar for seamless changeover. We play alot of casinos and never had any interference issues or dropouts. Not cheap tho. It was worth the $$ for me.

Preset sharing etiquette

I was thinking of sharing some presets that I created. I mostly use 3rd party IRs that I have mixed & manipulated. Once you have put your stamp on them is it ok to share thrm as part of your preset or should I just try to find some stock cabs that are similar? Thanks in advance for the advice...

Live backup rig

I probably should have mentioned that it's a backup on a budget. I'm leaning towards a Tech 21 RK9 or maybe a Boss Katana. Can't justify spending too much $$ on something I, hopefully, will never need. Still haven't sold my Bogner XTC. Btw $2000 shipped. :)

Removing a "y" setting once it's been setup

Hello all, First time poster here. I'm am trying to decrease the scene latency on some of my presets.I can't seem to figure out how to delete or remove a Y setting once i've made any changes. Even if it's not activated it still takes cpu if you have an X & Y setting, correct? Hope I'm making...
