Best way to create a solo boost... go!

I like to use a CS that turns on a phaser (nothing too crazy) in front of amp with slight volume boost and a PEQ after the cab (eq’d to help cut through the mix) with a 1-2 db boost. Helps my tone pop through without mushing out the amp too much. It’s like a “more” switch with some extra sauce...

FM3 Firmware Version 2.0

My CPU usage went down on all my presets - currently running Pitch->Comp->Filter->FX Loop->Amp->stereo cab->Parallel loop with delay and reverb->Tremolo->Comp (studio) and MIDI in/out commands. I was able to switch from economy to normal reverb quality. Great update, no issues for me!

Here's my setup. I sold my AX8 when the FM3 was announced (actually made $ on my sale). Unfortunately I was in a weird Fractal-less purgatory. I picked up a few pedals that I have enjoyed before I went all Fractal and used a Kemper (never really liked) and a Strymon Iridium (good little pedal)...

The TX Star (Mesa Lonestar), Morgan AC20, and Shiver (Bogner Shiva) are really fantastic and my go-to for clean work. The Bogner has a different and unique clean sound....read up on Yek's amp guide.

In ears with AX8

I go direct with IEMs as well...lucked out on a deal from 64 Audio last summer. They were selling some A6 (six drivers: 2 low, 2 mid, 2 high) for almost half off. I'd recommend something with at least 3 drivers. I don't think 2 is enough for clarity sake. I took over our tech for our campus...

Question about dialing out brightness when rolling guitar volume down

Yep...run your parallel fx (at least the first block if you have multiple blocks in parallel) with the mix @ 100%. Anytime the mix is 50% or lower, you are doubling the dry signal (or whatever signal is going in...). Adjust the level to taste for parallel fx. I prefer my delays and reverbs in...

YOUR preferred country style amps

Can't go wrong with the Deluxe Tweed...check out the Div/13 CJ as well. It's along the same lines but a little cleaner. Both work well with your volume knob as well. Definitly throw some comp in there...I don't use drive pedals much, but I like some PEQ to push the amps more. My PEQ settings...

Yep - before I was sophisticated, my pedalboard was setup like that...I had a Keely 30ms running into a Strymon Timeline. I would delay one side slightly, like 20-30ms and add some detuning.

AX8 Tremolo just doesn't sound...right

I did something similar to try to get that Flint style trem...ended up using 2 filter blocks in parallel. Both were notch filters @ 400hz and 1600hz. Then I added a lfo/sine wave controller to the volume to vary the volume from 0 db to -12. I went a step further and added an envelope controller...

I'm a big fan of Creation music co...their flat boards seem like they would fit the bill. I have one of their angled boards (bought it when I was going through my pedal phase ;)) but it sits too high on one of those. I found a tweed suitcase online and was able to make a live in case.
