    I've been tempted to get a Katana just to mess around with, this information isn't helping my GAS. I've been using AX8 into my Egnater Mod50 loop without cab sims....can't say I'm a fan, seems to require a lot of re-dialing once the CAB sim is gone. I prefer the FRFR 8" Monitors so far...

    Thanks man, am not really a player...work and life gets in the way and means I only play couple hours a month but the AX8 makes it a joy.....feeling like when I got my first decent tube amp all over again except it's much easier to record with.

    Dont wanna be a cheapskate!

    I have a pair of Rockit 5s and also pair of some 8" thinks that I can't remember brand of....the 5s are plenty loud an have enough low end, I may not even be driving the 8s enough and the low end can be a bit much....I actually hit the low end cut switch on them

    Possibly.....then I look at the price difference on AxeFX II + foot controller and just drop my reverb down a notch in density / go from super quality to normal instead :-)

    There is a known bug where user cabinets are incorrectly assigned (shifts down by 5 I believe) and one where factory cabinet (slot 1) assignment moves in presets....may be others but this was a deal breaker for me..too lazy to tweak all presets.

    Lost Cab somehow....help (n00b error or bug?)

    OK, I know the warnings about beta firmware, updated to FW7b on my AX8 and appear to have lost User Cab 055 definition that I was using in several presets...maybe new firmware bug, making it pointing at the wrong Bank???? I checked my (All-Cab-Banks) backup taken immediately prior to upgrading...

    I honestly cannot recommend Fremen packs enough to do them justice....well worth the money. Has a bunch of 5 Scene Packs for next to no $ and you can dive in tehre and learn some great tricks to ultimately create your own or modify to your needs.

    Perhaps my explanation or understanding is not clear....when I open the new factory presets, it shows 1-1...1.-8 all the way through to 16-1...16-8. If I chose to upload the entire set of presets, these are the only banks it will over-write? EDIT: My "Banks" are 1 thru 16 and each contain 8...

    HBE by it's nature is a very gainy, compressed amp (to my ears) ...maybe try the BE (and a DRV block if you want to gain it up a bit....)
