I had KRK Rockit RP5s and they weren't great. A lot of low end so all my mixes ended up light on the bass. Fine for normal listening though.

Crackling in Audio Input/Monitoring when using Axe-Fx II has DAW input device

I get clicks/pops sometimes when recording using the FAS driver but the recorded tracks always seem to be fine. Not sure why.

World's simplest/reliable MFC for Axe-Fx other than FAS MFC

If you're having trouble with the MC6 maybe try this thread? Sorry I'm not sure I can help as I don't have an MFC. I've found there are issues getting the tuner to work if you put any type of midi splitter/other midi device between the Axe midi out and MC6 midi in but that's all I've got :)

Thanks. Does that lock bank changes with an external switch too? The switch is in the post so I can't test it yet. Ideally I'd like to avoid having to turn bank lock on and off every song (as I have a different patch for each song)

Yes they work really well together. But it is small and the buttons are close together. It does a lot more than you need though.

Tips wanted for VU monitoring levels

There's a link to a video somewhere on these forums that shows you how to use LUFS meter. A search should find it I think. Generally my high gain patches are about 3-6 dB louder than my clean patches but that's because the songs get real loud and the drummer hits hard during these sections.

Literally anything that sends PC and CC messages which is pretty much every controller in existence. Having said that you get what you pay for. I paid for a Morningstar MC-6 and it's awesome.

Muting an input when another input has signal?

Maybe you can use the compressor's sidechain? So you have one compressor at the start of each signal chain (6 and 12 string) but sidechained to the other. When you play on set of strings the sidechain will reduce the level of the other. If you accidentally bump the strings on the opposite neck...

Will fractal consider using nutube technology in the future?

I had a Laney TF700 which had a tube in it yet they still made it sound bad. A tube does not necessarily mean good sound; it's how you use it ;)

Rack mounted equivalent to an Axe Fx with tubes in it.

I have a VHT Valulator GP3. It is awesome. Or was awesome until it stopped working (10 years after I bought it second hand). It's midi controllable and even had a speaker simulated output which wasn't bad. I ran mine through a quad though (which I wired in stereo myself). A the good old days...

Purchasing Axe-FX II for Apartment use, what else do I need?

If you've got the money a decent set of studio monitors is a good bet. They won't be suitable for live use though. Adam A7X's are good :)

New Axe FX II XL+ owner here

I wish they'd model the Klon already. At the moment I'm running a Fredrick Effects Golden Eagle (a Klon clone) into the Axe-FX because I can't seem to get a decent overdrive sound with the drive blocks when I'm on the neck pickup. Don't get me wrong, I love the Axe-FX though.

I've only skipped through this but could another option be just wiring your 2x12 in stereo? I've done this with a 4x12 before and it isn't too difficult. Just a thought :)

My Mark II does this too. Once I start using it live I'll have a mixer between it and the sound desk as I run it in parallel with other gear. Hopefuly I remember to turn the volume down before powering off :) It would be nice if FAS addressed this issue in future products though (I suspect...

Yes I got it to work, thanks. I changed the midi channel on the MC-6 (to see if that helped) and forgot to change it on the editor. I'm an idiot :) That video looks interesting. I'll try that later on.

I'm pretty sure I did it globally. Hold switches D+F while powering up then press D and it says "MIDI Thru Disabled". Press C to exit then use like normal.

FYI here's a rough sketch of how it is connected. I have two other midi devices (RJM mini effect gizmo and Strymon Timeline) that will eventually be incorporated into the rig on channels 2 and 3 (hence why the Axe-FX is channel 4).

OK so it was working again, I don't know why. Then I turned the MC-6 off and on and it stopped working (resetting the Axe-FX and GP-10 didn't fix it). Disconnecting the midi out from the Axe-FX going to the MC-6 seems to work (although I have to reset the GP-10 after disconnecting the Axe-FX...

Thanks. The tuner works fine; it's the GP-10 that doesn't. They are on different channels but both work fine with the MC-6 on their own. It's only when running them both I have an issue. Midi through is disabled on both the Axe-FX and the GP-10. Messing with the send sysex option on the Axe...
