You cannot compare the Line 6 HXFX to an FM3, the price difference is huge if they can make it for under the £1k price point then they'll sell loads

I still use Amps now and again, Two Rock CRS and a 67 Selmer TnB 50 with the Two Rock in 4cm with my FM9 but I do think if the will was there and the price point was reasonable there would be a market . When you look at the crazy prices of top end pedals from Eventide, Strymon etc it make a lot...

Not Feeling The New Sterling Majesty

I've had 2 EB Majesty's over the years, nice guitars, usual iffy MM build quality and a neck that has the structural integrity of wet pasta, they really need to do one with a maple instead of mahogany neck

I must have had a brain fart remembering that the older AxeFx3 updated the scribble strip when changing an Fx block , but surely this should be standard protocol to update automatically without the need to open FC editor, the Helix does this and its tbh a no-brainer and certainly helps the...

Has anyone noticed with the FM9 and certain drives you can hide the flaws in poorly played fast chord changes???

Modelling on all platforms does the same job of blurring a few ahem inaccuracies, try plugging into the front of something like a Two Rock CRS and even players who think they are all it get a little humbled, basically, just enjoy making music, that is what its about

I think there is a nice symbiotic relationship between tweaking the Axe Fx and playing guitar, i find a new sound and it sends me off in different directions both technique wise and stylistically.

Increasing the 'dynamics' of a preset.

Its still the only time a really good valve amp outperforms my Fx3, the feel of the touch sensitivity and dynamics, it just opens up more. Its a small price to pay tbh and who knows what the future may be, the sound may be similar but they do feel different under the fingers

Noise gate/s settings

Just to clarify my comment regarding noise gates, my "thing" if you will, is the dynamics of a picked note and the envelope that you can change purely with your hands, noise gates no matter how good trample all over this. If you want to kill noise then just put a volume block after the speaker...

PRS body repair work?

PRS need to do a Custom Shop Relic dept ? seriously though, if funds are tights'm sure car paint would cover a multitude of sins, its the thickening/filling up thats a pain, smaller ones can be successfully patched with Nail varnish

Switching to 11 gauge strings on a guitar set up for 12's

If it is a trem equipped guitar then you'd need to re-balance the Trem or if not then a slight truss rod tweak might be necessary though that depends how flexible the neck is

The rick with Dual Amping is to treat the 2 as one single NEW amp, shift EQ's Drive etc in a see saw manner, drop the mids out of one and lift the upper mids in the other etc, like baking a cake

For us in the UK and AxeFx3 with an FC12 is nearly 3 times the price of a Helix Rack and Board, plus you get excellent deals throughout the year, this has a massive impact when going Fractal here no matter how much better the Fractal stuff is

Great update team, if you aren't happy with pitch shift or the reverbs eating up too much CPU, well, i recommend doing what i do and use a Helix HXFX in the loop, works a treat once you get your head round the midi ;)

Touch capacitance footswitches are an amazing timesaver and so far have been very reliable, I’ve owned both a Helix Rack, Fx2 and have an Fx3 on order, just because some “lesser” brand has a bit of a brainwave and an ergonomic advantage it doesn’t mean that it should be dismissed readily

Mooer Tube Engine 20 Watt Power Amp & Axe III - Any thoughts?

Those Mooer Tube engines aren't cheap for what they are tbh, probably better off buying a s/h Marshall 20/20, thats what I used with my Fractal Fx2 with good results into Yamaha DBR12's

That really is a cock up of Brexit level stupidity imho, like selling a car with no pedals. I’m usually an early adopter, having had an Axe Fx2 and now an FX8, very glad I decided to hold fire for at least a year and wait till it’s all available and bug free

I did LOL at a previous comment about someone being a Musician, so obviously not Deaf ! I’m assuming it was sarcasm as a lot of my fellow musicians are as deaf as posts with no top end left at all. It’s Occupational law that I have annual ear tests and because I always wore earplugs when gigging...
