Quick update. Found a place locally that is an authorized Mackie repair. Ended up being a few shorted capacitors. Total repair cost, $90. A lot less than I expected.

Front panel poll

An observation. I have always used Axe-Edit and struggle with front panel. My son only uses front panel and jets around it quickly and can configure things faster than I can do it with Axe-Edit. I think it just is where you spend your time or what your used to.

To anybody who use Windows and went Axe 2 --> Axe 3

No issues here. If working great with Axe 2 already then the Axe 3 should work even greater! The only issues I had were fixed by disabling the sleeping mode of USB. There is a thread somewhere on it. But if you aren't having those issues with the 2 then should be good to go with 3.

Help! FC-12 not working with Axe-Fx 3

One other thing. What is the cable length? I have had experience with an FC-6 working on long snake runs but it's not enough for the FC-12. I assume this isn't the case but thought I would mention it. But even in that case, the FC-12 would show signs it had some power, but didn't function at all.

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 13.03

Man, I hadn't updated Axe-Edit or firmware for several weeks or more. I know, the blasphemy. But holy crap!!! That will teach me for getting behind.

For those that have an Axe-Fx III and an FM3

I have both and kind of look at it like Portability vs Flexibility. Both are outstanding units. With the FM3 I can put my entire rig in a dual guitar case and go. With the III and my FC-12 it's two more things to lug around. But for some gigs, it's totally worth it because of the dual amps...

FM3 Firmware Release Version 1.05

for me, no issues yet. Did a gig out doors and worked great. Rehearsal the other night was fine.
