Alto TS212 global EQ

I'm using a pair of Alto TS212's with my AX8. I found them to be boomy at first. I just cut the lows in the cab block and the boominess is much better. Actually I've noticed that boominess is even less with the latest firmware.

The Outfield tone??

Unfortunately once converted it maxes out the CPU on the AX8 and cuts the reverb block, even after lowering quality and echo density.

I didn't have any issues with AX8-Edit at all. I didn't reset any of the amps in my presets but I noticed that the amps were a little "hotter" using the original settings for each one. I have one Smallbox preset I use that normally I would add a drive block for solos. After updating to this...

AX8 - Guitar - Headphones recommendation

I use the AKG K 240 and really like them. I can only compare to cheap headphones though and haven't compared to any really nice studio headphones. You'll really need some kind of amplifier to use headphones with the AX8. You won't be able to go directly from the output and get a good sound.

TM to IR conversion

I don't have an Axe-Fx and don't use Axe-Edit (AX8 using AX8-Edit) so I don't have access to the tone match blocks to export. Also this won't convert them to IR's.

Then change your settings in Chrome so it won't do this again. Settings>Privacy>content settings>MIDI devices full control. Check "Do not allow any sites to use system exclusive messages to access MIDI devices"

Welcome from another 5150 combo user! I sold most of my old gear and what few amps I had to get the AX8 but won't part with my 5150 combo. Sounds much better than the 5150 120w head I used to have. And the AX8 sounds pretty good running through it.

Funny way to mess with the audience / amp snobs....

I needed a rack mount for my MosValve so I cut up an old Yamaha G100-112 combo amp, took out a section and glued the bottom back on. The old amp was the perfect rack mount width.

Thanks Alan. I've been tweaking my presets with the speaker standing on end but will try some borrowed stands. I definitely plan on buying a second one for stereo effect. For the price it can't be beat and I can always use them as regular monitors if I go a different route.

I haven't had any issues with it so far. You may have to tweak some of the presets you convert as the AX8 is a little different. For this preset the reverb cab was maxing out the CPU so I had to drop the echo density to 4 and set the quality to normal.

Thanks for the reply. My next step was maybe cutting the low in the cab block. Recently watched Danny's video on tuning the cab block. I'd still like to use the FX loop bypass to run to the MosValve and 4x12 cab so I'd like to not mess with the amp settings if I don't have to.

I was in the situation where I needed to sell gear to finance the AX8 but was afraid they'd be out of stock by then so I just put in on a credit card and sold the gear on the back side to pay it off. :)
