I just wanted to add a little sarcasm to the thread, but you never know what FAS is cooking up. The USB-A port has been a topic on these threads since the FM3 was released and it's not enabled. It's likely that the SoC board had a built-in USB port and FAS had no real future plans to use it...

If you could only have one...

IMHO, If I could only have one it would be the AxeFx 3. I have both so I'm fortunate, but I would give up the FM3 and keep the AxeFx 3 if asked. Historically, the updates are more frequent and features come out on the AxeFx 3 before they hit the FM3.

I have 3 scenes , first 2 scenes spillover delay works but scene 3 does not???

What you're likely noticing in scene three is your feedback is short and your time is very short (144 ms) so when you switch scenes your delay effect is matching that setting and your spillover is very short which likely sounds like no spillover. Push your feedback up as a test and see if you...

Q for those who also own an FM3: Ambient Sounds

I own both and play 100% worship music these days. I really had to learn how to use the multi-tap delay, this block transends delay and reverb without the CPU overhead. Using the diffusor smears the delays into more of a reverb sound and having chorus in that block fills in the empty space...

What's your gig strategy with the FM3? Here's mine (so far)

Preset per song here but the same principle of 3-4 scenes (clean, rhythm (preamp CC boost), rhythm + (drive pedal), and lead if I need it). Each preset will mostly be a copy of the first one with tempo changes for time based effects. I'm playing in a worship environment 100% of the time now...

I use the dual switch as stand in switches, one is for tuner and the second is for view + to switch views on the FM3. It allows me to quickly move views without having to hold down the pedal on the FM3 to switch views. The footswitch came from Amazon . The footswtich toppers also came from amazon.

The Ventris is in a stereo loop, Output 2 R/L to Ventris In and Ventris Outs to Input 2 R/L I use it to save CPU mostly so I can add a few extra blocks in to my preset and there are a few presets on the Ventris that I like and haven't spent the time on making them on the FM3.

Not a Bug Axe-Edit III 1.05.11 Macbook Pro CPU and Fan Noise

I did have issues initially when I first got my MacBook 2 months ago with kernel panics. But rebuilt the OS and haven't had an issue since. Have you tried Fan Control for your macbook? I use this on all my MacBooks and we use it on all our production systems at church to keep them cool.

My III sounds different day to day...?

This has been my experience as well, I contributed this to environmental changes like fatigue, outside pressure, humidity and sinuses and how that all effects my hearing day to day. Summer is the worst for me. Your Axe isn't going to change but your ears will.

the MacBook was a fresh install and so was the win10 build. All worked with my Axe3 without issue. why FM3 when I have a Axe3? Portability and easE but mostly because I can. It’s the same reason I still hold onto all my amps and guitars. I’m fortunate and grateful that I can do that.

I have the mofi and while they sound great they are heavy to wear. The MixFi's are just the new version of the mofi's you should be fine. You could even get the Lola's and be find.

This has me the most excited!!! Nobody comes close to FAS product support in this market. FAS is on it's 12th major release for the AxeFx3 and that speaks volumes around algorithm advancements and feature releases that are just jaw dropping. Can't wait to see what the future holds for the FM3.

The unity setting for these units is -18dbi but they don't come setup that way. When I got mine it was +20dbi and it sounded bad.

Major updates like that will have goodies rolled into them. Minor updates are usually bug fixes or enhancements to existing features. We are on the 12th major update so this is typical for FAS unlike it's competitors in the space who have only released 2-3 major updates since their product...

That's your internal signal level which is separate from your external levels controlled by the hardware faders. So they are pre-fader if you think about this in the FOH concept.
