As the topic says I tried playing over some Holdsworth changes. This time the solo section of his song Atavachron. Using my own made Holdsworth-ish preset on the Axe Fx III. Not meant to be an exact replica of his tone but rather something in that style, that works for me. Using the USA JP IIC+...

Hey guys! Here’s my entry for the MRNBCONTEST 2021. Anyone else who entered the contest? I used the Cameron amp on the Axe Fx 3 along with my Ibanez RG6PCMLTD (gotta love the model names). Tried to mix some melodic playing with outside Holdsworth-inspired lines. :) Hope you enjoy! Happy new year!!

Who can give that type of tone like Martin Miller and Tom Quayle

Tom always use a clean amp with some overdrive in front of it. A low gain and very dynamic tone. I think I’ve seen him using the FAS modern preset (preset 37) on the Axe II at times....

Noob to High Gain Tones, Need Help!

For high gain sounds I mainly use Friedman, Engl and Mesa amps. Sometimes I even use a Marshall in parallel to get some more bite. Cab wise use a 4*12 mesa or similar with some low end to it. Ownhammer make some good packs... and of course Fractal's own cabs sound great too!! As mentioned...

I'm thinking you might need to specify what Maiden era you're looking for. The tones are quite different from album to album... Compare Somewhere in time with Fear of the dark or The number of the beast...

Wampler Euphoria/Dual Fusion

I'm using the Dual Fusion along with my Axe Fx (usually a Suhr Badger amp preset). Nice combo indeed. I usually go for the Vintage channel on the DF since it like midrange and the edge it creates in the OD sound. :)
