Amp and speaker interaction as with Celestion's Speakermixer Pro "Z-Curve" dial?

Good point! I have just done a few measurements. It happens the z-curve control adds in what I would describe as a bass bump, a mid scoop and large high bump. Just like a speaker impedance curve as seen on the Axe fx amp block (the bass boost being way larger on the Celestion implementation)...

Amp and speaker interaction as with Celestion's Speakermixer Pro "Z-Curve" dial?

Hi there ! It's been a long time since I've been here. And I'm still with my Axe FX 2. Someday I will make the jump to the 3... someday... So, lately I've been working a lot with Celestion IRs and DSRs within their Speakermixer Pro software (VST plugin). I'm very satisfied with the results I...

Axe-Fx III 16.00 Beta 4 "Cygnus" Firmware - Public Beta

Holly s#*@t, some of the videos and audio examples you guys posted are really awesome. Now I'm cursing myself because I'm still on the Axe FX 2 and missing the firmware updates... If I'm caught robbing a bank I will claim Fractal Audio forced me to do it ! :) More seriously, keep the hard work...

    Ma the Meatloaf preset

Hey you lucky Axe 3 owners! I listened to some Axe 3 clips just earlier and I liked one of the presets. It was "Ma the Meatloaf". It seems this preset is based on the 5153 model. Could any of you kindly tell me how is this preset done so I can try to replicate it on my Axe 2? I never loved any...

Make Amps More Dynamic, Bloom, Touch Sensitive and Punchy? Yes Please :-)

Wait! You mean this dynamic page is not in the FM3? Thanks for the information! I was thinking about switching to the FM3 (now on an Axe 2), but if this is not in the FM3 I may reconsider my choice. I use these dynamic settings on every preset I do.

Just WOW ! I was simply passing by on the forum and noticed that topic on top of the list. Very happy to get some more goodness on the Axe 2 ! Thanks Cliff. I'm not in the capacity to upgrade to a 3 yet, so I really enjoy behing able to continue the trip with your continuous struggle for...

    The Sweet Spot

Thanks a lot for that trick! I've been using an Axe 2 for a few years now and never realised the master volume was such an important tone parameter. I instantly managed to improve 2 of my main presets. I found easy to do it even by using my ears, no VU meters, there is indeed a spot where the...

Axe-Fx II "Ares" Rev 1.03 Firmware Release

OK, I just tried that new firmware today. Although I stated the changes in Ares 1.00 where not striking me, I must say that now I ear something new and really pleasing. Can't get precise words on it but that sounds like an improvement to me. Great job FAS, and thanks for porting all that for us...

Not a Bug Drive Block "Tube Drv 4 Knob" No sound

Right! Seems the default drive value goes to zero when switching to that drive. I did not try to tweek that one, I was just "passing by" while searching for another one. Not a bug it seems.

Not a Bug Drive Block "Tube Drv 4 Knob" No sound

I was messing with the drive block yesterday and I noticed once I switched the type to "Tube Drv 4-Knob" there was no sound. Every other type had sound but that one was muted. Axe Fx 2 XL with Ares 1.0.

Axe-Fx II "Ares" Rev 1.00 Firmware Release

Time for me to post here too. First of all I want to thank Cliff and Fractal Audio for this Firmware. I was sure Q10 would be the last one, but I was wrong. This is a great gift for us that are still on the Axe 2 (and may stick to it for a while). Now to the second part of the post... I think...

Hello to the Fractal community ! I'm posting here to maybe have some good advices as I'm trying to figure out how to solve an annoying issue. In-ear advice?

I can't say. I always used in ears with a wire cable, not wireless. Although I have a wireless transmitter for my guitar and I always deploy the front antennas. But knowing a bit about wireless transmission, the antenna placement is important for the coverage of the area you want to receive the...

    In-ear advice?

Hello, I've been using multiple things to monitor guitars live. Both as a guitarist or a drummer (yes I do both, but mostly drums). I've been using Shure SE215 IEM and those where doing really good, getting the sound directly from the Axe FX. Even when pounding the drums (I'm a really heavy...

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 9.01 Beta

Well, I've discovered the new firmware threads yesterdays and decided to take some time to install it today on my Axe 2 XL. I was on firmware 8.02 and jumped directly to 9.01b. After the firmware was installed I tweaked the speaker comp parameters in my two main presets and I did reset motor...

    Mark IIc++?

Thank you, I should have said I already had a look. All we learn from the wiki is the IIC++ model is based on a Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ and this is what Metallica uses. Hello all! Could anyone light me up please? I'm wondering what are the differences between USA IIc+ and IIc++ ? Is this a modded Mesa Mark IIc+? Or did that reference exist in Mesa Boogie catalogue? Never heard of it before. I'm not with my Axe FX 2 right now, so I cannot compare. What sonic...

Unforgiving, immediate transient thwack, ultra-tight low-end, MODERN METAL

What worked pretty well for me when trying to achieve a tight and percussive low end was and agressive tone : Use a high gain model with guts, and that have both input gain and overdrive controls keep bass in the preamp (basic page) rather low Input gain quite high, around 7 Overdrive up to...

    Amps that compliment each other

To complement my later post, on top of cab IR, mike choices in the amp block help changing the sound character so both left and right sounds are different. Footswitch status LED is weak

Thanks for your answer. That makes perfect sense indeed.
