FC18 and FC21

Sorry if this has been covered, but any idea if the AX8 can be used as a controller for the FXIII? Don’t know much about AX8 midi possibilities but its footswitches work perfect for me and that way I could get an extra use for it.

AX8 Firmware 9.04 Released

Latest firmware downloaded, installed and tested in a rehearsal at gig volumes. Just had to lower a little bit of bass on the amp block to get what I thought it was impossible: it's even better than 9.03!! Thanks FAS Team for your constant efforts and improvements.

Yeah, I’m running 1/4” but I realized that instead of cranking the DXR up, I set the AX8 out to 100% and then go increasing the level on the DXR up to a certain volume that my ears stop bleeding :D That way allowed me to get enough loud levels and minimize the background hum.

Yes, 80-8500 and proximity at 3.5 are the settings for the cab. I'm using a ML's Ir with SM57/R121, it works great for me.

After a couple of rehearsals at last had the chance to try it (DXR10) as a wedge in a small gig and couldn't be happier with it. Loud more than enough, portable and the presets translate to FOH (15") quite well, to be honest they had an increase on the high end, but it ended to be a good thing...

Really interesting! but just wondering... would it work via midi adapter (like Quiccosound mi.1) instead of using the camera adapter?? Also, does it support 9.03 firmware? EDIT: just found some info here.

Thanks for the advice! Finally tweaked some amp and drive parameters (USA models and TS808 Mod) and it ended to be the best tone ever got!! I guess I needed just a little patience...

Last rehearsal tried the AX8 through a ‘generic’ 8” monitor and found out it really sounded well to my ears. So after reading tons of posts I decided to order a DXR10 that’s on its way home. Hopefully it will cover my needs... crossing fingers!!

AX8 Firmware 9.03 Released

I had to downgrade to 9.02 since I was experimenting some issues in the amp or drive blocks. I can’t explain it well... I felt a less ‘organic’ or ‘real’ tone apart from some noise issues at the slightest touch of the strings. Reset the blocks and still the same. Got a couple of gigs next week...

what are the best cab packs to buy for AX8?

Never used third party cab packs since I own my AX8...till a couple of days ago. I can't speak about other IR producers but I took advantage of the sale on @ML SOUND LAB cab packs and purchased the Misha Mansoor one. It's been a turning point not only in my tone search but also in the 'tweaking...

The only think that works fine for me is switching on AX8 and only then plugging the USB cable, if I try the other way round the Mac doesn't recognize it... I'm running fw 5.01 > MB Pro OS X Sierra

Thanks for all your replies! I think I'll definitely go for a 12" and tweak the out2 eq to make the sound match with the 15" as much as possible. Probably I'll get the most affordable, that'll allow me to save for a better quality option purchase, like an ASM ;)

AX8 Price drop in Europe too! G66 is now selling at 1599 eur compared to the 1699 eur I paid just 1 week ago:confused: Would that mean I got an US made (or assembled) unit instead of a PRC made? Not happy at all:(

Hi all! I'm also completely NEW here and got my FIRST Fractal a week ago. Some issues trying to connect it to my Mac and finding a suitable controller...dealing with midi stuff is not my strong point lol... But that ULTRA is the best piece of gear I've had up to now. For someone who is changing...
