FX8 Preset Problem. Pls Help!

did you set your pre and post settings correct in the Config tab in FX-edit? I sometimes forget this and then it bypasses all the block and you get a clean sound only For 4cm you can have do the drives and compressor block pre and the effects like delay, reverb post.

Corrupt Global Configuration Error 101 PLEASE HELP

What I did was email the vendor (g66.eu) with the serialnr of the unit and asked for a warranty transfer. I also send the original receipt. But I did confirm if this was an option before I bought it second hand.

Try a factory reset? It looks like a software corruption. I also have a second hand Mark1 but I could transfer the warranty. I had a footswitch which broke off so they picked it up and repaired it for free. Great service at g66.eu.

So you pick one amp and then try different cabs? Basically what I am looking for is voxac30, ocd, RAT, love pedal distortion sounds. U2 edge type of sounds. On my fx8 I use 90% RAT and Eternal Love drive blocks.

Sudden loss of output on only 1 preset

Did you change the delay settings(phase reverse) and or the global output settings? If you set it to sum L+R with stereo delay and phase reverse you might end up with zero sound.

So, is there a future for the FX8?

I tried an AX8 during a fractal meeting but I liked the sound of a real amp more then the sound of a Full-range monitor. I miss the low end there. I use my fx8 effects all in front of my 2 amps which will give me the low-end. Amazing sound.

Upgrades are always nice but I prefer Stability above new features. And as for the forum silence...maybe it is just a no-brainer unit which just works excellent with a real amp where the unit was designed for. It suits my every need. I would like fractal to do a little bit of stability upgrades...

I doubt that. I had a Tm36 which I used with a gsystem and an OCD in the pre-amp. In theory auto input impedance would fix all your issues. The fx8 is a g-system with serious upgrades in my opinion. But hey if it doesnt work for you...too bad.

Try not using 4cm. I have found everything sound better right in the preamp. All blocks in series. Which was a bit weird to experience because i bought the fx8 for being able to use stereo 4cm.

Long cable runs

How long is long? I come from a g-system. Used it in 4cm with a tubemeister36. Alsi with pre amp out to two combo amps. Sometimes I had problems in places where there was a bad electric circuit like old churches. But I always use 6m cables ac110 so guess thats no that long

G66.eu fixed my hanging fx8 mk1 by replacing the 5.0.3 with the 5.0.2. And because it was not the official release I had to pay for the transport. So no more beta releases for me!

I can imagine some of your frustration points. The only two drives that worked for me out of the box where the RAT and the Eternal Love. The other drives have so much differentation in volume and fuzz. Curious how they have tested the default settings... But I am happy with the RAT and the EL...

7CM for stereo?

I had the same thing. There is a workaround: move the preset to another footswitch. Ik work with fixed presets 1 to 8. But I guess its another thing when you use stompboxmode. Good luck with your gigs!

Bug? Assigning EXT to delay feedback -> communication loop

Reproduction: Assign your EXT to the left feedback of a delay(in my case the 2290 stereo mode) Set your min max to 0% and 20% for instance. Then close the EXT config panel. Now fx-edit keeps ' communicating' I cannot save the preset. I use the latest FX-edit and firmware

If you set it to stereo it has left and right feedback. And NO assigning it only to the left doesn't work. In fact then you get the error as well. It keeps saying ' communicating' I think it is a bug

When I assign my EV-1(EXT2) to the left and right delay feedback of my 2290 delay I can't save the preset. The feedback settings freak-out and go up and down. So only left is fine but as soon as I assign Right to the EXT2 as well then there seems to be an issue. It can't handle it. Is this a bug...

Yes aftercare first impression is good. I bought a 4 months old fx8 from someone and the 3 year warranty period could be transferred without any problems. Just email them with the serialnr. Now after 13 months of using it the 5th footswitch broke(?) of causing the unit to freeze so its unusable...

FX8 CPU - disappointing out of the box experience

All my CPU problems are gone since the recent drive and wah updates. I use the Eternal and RAT 95% of the time with the studio comp, clyde wah, enhancer, reverae dealy delay and hall/studio/deep space high quality. I get about 84% cpu

I use sticky presets. So I can acces 8 presets with one tap. And the nice thing is I see all 8th presetnames in the screen. One tap for bank up or down and I have the next 8 presets. I usually have the top 4 buttons for one song and the bottom row for the next. I found this is the most flexible...

Output level question

I would say the only option within the fx8 is to create patches with different inputlevels for your Strat and Tele. Outside the fx8 you could use a boost for the telecaster to level with the strat.

When you have your bpm programmed you definitely do not want to tap because then you lose the tempo for that preset and you have to go back and forth to get the Original tempo again. Also when you have set the tap tempo to preset instead of global then you see 0 tempo when you tap

Timer could be a good option yes. It doesnt suck. I am a volume swell kinda guy:) It should only activate once volume is 0. Well common...my Kemper has it :D

Its not for the muting. I now use the f3 hold switch (tap tempo / bank down) for tuning but that does not work when i am in sticky preset mode. So activating the tuner in heel down position frees up the f3 hold for some other function and the heel down volume pedal tuner is very common and...

Wish Scene Names on Screen in Scene Mode

Today I finally found my ideal setup! I now set p1 to p8 global and then in sticky preset/bank mode the new preset list (v3.02) remains in the screen at all times. So I see 8 presets with their names in the screen and I can switch to each of them with just one click(large preset name turned off)...
