Still hoping someday we will get a Framus Cobra model. I've tried the Rectos, the FAS Moderns, the SLO, you name it. I just can't quite coax the same quality as the Cobra out of any of them

Logic Pro X shuts off Axe-Fx II Audio

This has been happening to me as well. I had the Axe connected to my interface by spdif as well, and I could only solve the problem by disconnecting the spdif and just using the analog outs. Unfortunate, since now I can't get simultaneous DI's while I record.

Clicking noise / metronome type noise - not good

Are you by any chance wearing a watch on your picking hand? Mine ticks loud enough to be amplified by the pickups if I'm wearing it. Sounds silly, but took me weeks to figure out thats what it was, and it was noticeably loud

High gain clarity

I vastly prefer the 50w blue over the 100w 5153 models - its waaaayyyy clearer across all the strings to my ear. You can still get way more gain than you'd ever possibly need though. Personally I like the 50w without a boost pedal in the front, gain hovering around or slightly below noon. I'd...

Deathcore Patch? Anyone?

You can always give FracTool a try to convert those patches over for the AX8. If you want to get in the ballpark of Thy Art though, they definitely use 5150s so give that model a shot with a mesa cab and you'll be pretty close off the bat

axe fx sounds muddy

Any chance your interface is sampling at 44.1k? The axe runs at 48k, and I've noticed I seem to lose a lot of top end if my interface is sampling at 44.1k, so try switching to 48

Definitely believable. Got my AxeII for $1,300 bucks on reverb a few months ago and it works perfectly. I'm pretty sure the guy just needed cash quick, cuz I've literally never seen one sell that cheap before

What amps have pleasantly surprised you and what amps have been a let down?

Relatively new Axe Fx owner here (woohoo!), I'd have to say I've been most pleasantly surprised by the Quickrod and in particular the Corncob M50. Wouldn't have really expected the tones that I've been able to get out of those guys, but they've delivered some absolutely bone-crushing stuff...
