Find a preset/scene that’s close

I use and create a new preset for every cover song I play. I’m at 40+ FM3 presets now, but I only use a core group of amps and the same few amp blocks over and over again. I also find it a HUGE plus to use the same IR for ALL presets too! Think of it as an actual tube amp rig and one cabinet...

Friedman ASC 12 ( Connected to FM3 Output 2 ) Humbuster benefit ?

I use Output #2 directly to my pair of Friedman ASC-10’s w/ a 1/4” to XLR cable I got on-line. I use Output #1 directly to the board & that gives me separate volume control on stage with Output #2. I have no buzz or hum at all & don’t use any Humbuster cables on this rig. Peace! X

I’ve never had an issue w/ volume or feedback from even one ASM-12, yet alone 2 of them. I used 2 in Stereo at gigs for a short time & only stopped due the hassle of bringing 2 - 52lb FRFR speakers was a total P.I.T.A.! :eek: These ASM-12 speakers are meant for personal monitoring in my eyes...

These are all great points & I only have Bias-2 as my other plug-in tone generator references I find the PRS models very life like & they not only sound great, they feel great too. I love the Fractal AX8 tones as well as the Ampli-Firebox....& find the PRS raw amp tones very similar in quality...

I use the top row for the blocks I will either change most in a preset, or want to see when they are on/off. The bottom row is for pre-set scenes (verse, chorus & solo) & a volume boost per filter block. Using X/Y I have it so my boost is 1db on the 1st two rhythm scenes & 4db on the lead...

Channel switching lag? There’s no channel switching lag on the FX8 at all, unless your tube amp already has that. The Mesa TC50 switches seamlessly w/ the Fractal FX8....As do the Friedman Runt 50 & Carvin Legacy 3. X

The 4CM can easily create a ground loop due to all the connection points. Hum Buster cables will NOT break that ground loop if that occurs. That kind of hum/buzz is pretty noticeable & you should know it when you have it or hear it. I always think it’s good to set it all up straight through...

FX8 Midi amp channel switch - time lag

I have no lag at all switching with midi on my Mesa TC50 or Carvin Legacy-3. Fyi only..... Your FX8 can do this with no issues, but there must be something else going on or set wrong. I wish I could help out more.....& good luck. X

I don’t think we’ll see new designs or re-designed boxes & screens for a few years on either the FX8 or AX8 units. I do think we’ll continue to get firmware updates, new FX & more CPU usage back from compression improvements....& hopefully a major update to the list of FX over-all on the FX8...
