Free Def Leppard Preset (FM3, FM9, III)

Thanks for sharing @fcs101 - really appreciated. So I built this out a long time ago and have been tweaking it over the past few months. I was pretty excited to see Phil release one of his actual live presets for the Gift of Tone series. I debated not putting my version out, but after...

Tone Match is awesome (step aside, Kemper and Quad Cortex)

I own Kemper, QC, and Axe-FX. For the profiling/capturing side of things, I think I prefer Kemper to QC. Mostly because I love all the controls they give you to tweak a profile (definition, clarity, etc). I even prefer the squish that is inherent to Kemper - although I know some hate it. I feel...

Tone Match is awesome (step aside, Kemper and Quad Cortex)

That's all true for sure. But to me the end result is more or less the same (I'm playing a digital re-creation of an amp that I own and love). Hence the title. My other excuse is that YouTube has essentially been my day job for the past 5 or 6 years. The click-bait title has become my life, ha...

Tone Match is awesome (step aside, Kemper and Quad Cortex)

A few more things... I did the Tone Match without a cabinet in place, which means the tone match essentially acts as both the cabinet and the amp/EQ match. This means you can pull it into the FM3 and FM9 (along with the tweaked AC20 block). In the preset, it’s just two instances of the AC20...

Tone Match is awesome (step aside, Kemper and Quad Cortex)

I have a Matchless Laurel Canyon, and I love it. It’s the first 6v6 amp from Matchless, often described as thier take on a Princeton or even a Deluxe, but it is still very ‘Matchless’, especially in the top end and how it breaks up. So I set out to Tone Match it in Axe-FX iii. I started with...

As far as I can tell, I haven't found a way to copy per preset overrides from one preset to another - something I've wished I could do many times. Would love to see it implemented in a future FW update (or maybe there's a way to do it that I'm missing?).

Set BPM/tempo to a tenth of a number (or at least a half)

10+ years of putting up worship/church related content on YouTube - and dealing with literally hundreds of anti-religion and hate filled comments on that platform have led me to assume the worst of people sometimes. 😅 My bad. For me it isn’t so much a worship leader asking me to play in those...

I read your comment as being about us guitar players who play in churches. If that’s not what you meant, then I apologize for my response as it was uncalled for. I’ve served under leaders in church who fit your description, but I didn’t think that’s what we were talking about here. Sorry I...

Set BPM/tempo to a tenth of a number (or at least a half)

It seems that there is a common sentiment that '.5 BPM doesn't make a difference', but when you are at slower tempos (like around or under 70bpm), and you use time-sync'd delays like dotted 8th or dual delays liked dotted 8th plus 1/4 with long repeats - once the delay repeats past a measure or...

Let’s make it happen, Fractal! Search your feelings - you will know that more precise tempos are the key. Let us set our BPM’s to 64.6 and together we can rule the galaxy. Or if you prefer a Star Trek reference instead: whole number BPM only options are like Kahn. Spock is dead. William...

Issue with Delay block when importing FM3 presets

I've noticed the 25% master time issue as well. It REALY confused me for a bit, ha. FWIW - I imported one of our Axe-FX III presets to get started building FM9 versions of our presets. I haven't tried importing one of the FM3 presets yet. I am re-building all the presets we have for Axe-FX III...

    Maxing out the DSP

Nice! I've found that removing the PlexDly block gives me back more than enough DSP to add the pitch block into my basic setup if needed. I really only use Plex for swells, and even then its pretty over the top, ha. This is the truth! It's a big deal for us heavy reverb and delay users.
  18. Brian Wahl

    Maxing out the DSP

Yes, there is a pitch block in FM9. From what I understand it hasn't had the latest update that the pitch block in Axe-FX III has (I could be wrong), but it will still do POG type effects.
  19. Brian Wahl

    Let the price gouging begin….

I mean - if I was really impatient and faced with the decision to buy an FM9 for $3k or an Axe-FX III and FC-12 for pretty much the same price... I'd take the Axe-FX 🤷‍♂️

Stereo Amps - how to retain stereo imaging in front of two amps?

Stereo Amps - how to retain stereo imaging in front of two amps?

Thanks. So there is no way to have a stereo effect going into two amps (in parallel, panned hard L/R) and have the stereo imaging retained? I understand that running a stereo effect into a single amp block would sum to mono, but this preset is running the stereo effect into two separate amp...

Stereo Amps - how to retain stereo imaging in front of two amps?

Hello all - I've got a technical question... I'm having some strange behavior with stereo amps. I typically put wet effects (always stereo) after the amp/cab block, but in some presets I have some in front of them. In these situations, I have a stereo delay that ping pongs (that's the delay...

Thanks for posting! I’ll try to get this one up on the site soon. I’ve delayed it a bit because I’m trying to get a Helix version done as well so we can release them at the same time. Helix is proving more difficult because it doesn’t have the amp model I’m using in the Fractal preset.

    Delay block bug (Axe-Edit)?

Hello all - I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this... In Axe-Edit III, I'm only able to see 2 delay blocks. Thanks so much for the review @orion32773! We praise and worship guys use more reverb than most any other genre - admittedly a bit much at times, ha. Love that Suhr, also! Set BPM/tempo to a tenth of a number (or at least a half)

You could make the same argument for the quality of the amp/effects modeling. How close should we get? 99.9% of the way there or 99.9999% of the way there. Some people might be fine with 99.9%, while others want 99.9999%. Personally, I find value in setting my delays that precise. Others might...

  41. Brian Wahl

Set BPM/tempo to a tenth of a number (or at least a half)

I understand the workarounds (doubling the BPM and adjusting delay subdivisions, using actual ms values for delays, etc), and I get that it's not very noticeable, but it would be cool to be exact, wouldn't it? It seems like the culture of Fractal is to make things as precise and perfect as...
  42. Brian Wahl

Set BPM/tempo to a tenth of a number (or at least a half)

We actually use Digital Performer, although I do agree that Ableton Live is a better option. We purchase our multitracks, so we use whatever tempo the original song was recorded at.
  43. Brian Wahl

Wish BPM set to tenths (rather than just whole numbers)

Would love the ability to set the BPM of a preset to a tenth (or at least a half) for a preset. For example, set it to 80.5 bpm. We play with click and backing tracks, and a handful of our songs are at .5 bpm's. With rhythmic delays (which I use quite a bit), it can make a difference.
  44. Brian Wahl

Set BPM/tempo to a tenth of a number (or at least a half)

We are essentially a cover band and we use click and backing tracks. So if a song was originally recorded at 80.5 bpm, that's what we play it at. I agree we could easily just do it at 80 or 81 and nobody would tell the difference, but we always stick with the original recorded tempo (I'm not in...
  45. Brian Wahl

Set BPM/tempo to a tenth of a number (or at least a half)

I do a lot of dotted 8th rhythmic delay stuff, so locking into the exact tempo of the song is pretty important for me. If we didn't use a click I'd just tap to whatever the drummer is doing, but since we go from a click track, I like to get it exact.
  46. Brian Wahl

Set BPM/tempo to a tenth of a number (or at least a half)

We do everything to click and backing tracks (I play for a church), and a handful of songs are at .5 BPM’s. Doubling the tempo is a work-around but it seems like an easy feature to implement.
  47. Brian Wahl

Set BPM/tempo to a tenth of a number (or at least a half)

I tried doing a search but couldn't find anything... Is there any way to set the tempo of a preset to a tenth of a BPM - or at least a half? For example, if we do a song that's at 70.5 BPM, I have to set the Axe-FX III at 141BPM and then re-set all my delays to accommodate. So can I set the...

FW 3.02 impressions (drives and 'authentic' controls)

Interesting that historically Fractal has been thought of as needing the most tweaking - maybe that's because there are just so many things to tweak :).
