Generally that is correct, unless of course you have developed a great piece of software and signed a NDA. @AlGrenadine #fractool the third party midi specification certainly does not cover this kind of control.

I have a preset where I had hoped that the above would have... I have a horrible distorted amp setup (by design) and then straight swap to CA+ Clean it seems slightly better but hasn't eliminated the spike between amp switching.

The problem you will come to is that you end up doing at least twice the amount of setup for controlling all these things. With the FC6 / 12 you don't really do that as they are so integrated. I just wish the small scribble screens were a bit more visible. Except for that they are exceptional.

think I've found a way to "wake up Reaper". If you select "allow use of different input and output devices (legacy option, not recommended)" it begins to work, however if you unselect and apply, it continues to receive audio from the AxeFXIII

that’s why I (indirectly) asked... Comparing between AFX3 and FM3. FW14.00 and FW1.06 Is the implementation different but achieving the same? Therefore if the drive block in the AFX3 shows 20Hz for low cut and the FM3 shows 6.15, are they equivalent? I’m trying to copy / migrate presets

The sub section “View: Inc/Dec” talks about Scenes and 1 through 8. I believe this should be Views and either 1 through 2 for FC6 and 1 through 4 for FM3.

Hold function via external switch... I'm missing some step.

Read... the... manual... but it’ll be something to do with reversing polarity setting or the cable configuration or having a hold function also assigned to that switch. Quite a lot to check and debug, but its all in the manuals.

Meters basically useless without peak dB readout

How about a Loudness Block... LUFS you could enable it... play a section and see the calculated percieved loudness. This is an industry standard measurement which was/is supposed to stop the loudness war on TV etc. I use a plug in on my DAW to normalise backing track content to a known...

I have noticed that AxeEdit isn't refreshing the AMP blocks (possibly affects others but I haven't researched)... FW12.01 and AxeEdit 1.04.00. To reproduce, load a preset that you know what amp it should use. Likely it will show you the last amp that was modified and all the controls at noon...

Just out of interest because i haven’t checked in a while... has the gate acquired an inverse side chain detect yet? I have a method for doing it, but wondered if the block got an upgrade and i missed it. (I use this inverse gate to control my guitar input whilst playing a piano and vs versa)

I had a laptop on one of those drawers... they are heavy. I don’t think you’ll get the unit in because of the close dimension issue of 88 vs 89m. That draw will eat some of that.

If you use “per preset” override (there are 24 per preset overrides available) you could create (24/6)=4 [FC6] or (24/12)=2 [FC12] entirely custom layouts per preset.

Axe-Fx III Firmware Version 11.02 Public Beta #5 (Beta_4)

Had some spike during a scene change with this FW. lots of scene swaps have been OK, can't reproduce easily, but it defo was digital spike as my clip light on my interface warning lit up. Haven't heard it since.

Mini LCD wish - bigger text or bold

It really looked quite nice... shame the FC protocol isn’t publically available.. the FC functionality is awesome... the screens (for me) not so.

Necessary yes... preferred.. maybe not for me. (Combination of eyesight and majority of gigs)
