Anyone else experience this? Just turned on my FM9 with the 2.0 beta and was blasted with very loud white noise coming out. Made me jump out of my chair :dizzy: I'm connected via spidf to my AU Apollo X6 interface. Reboot fixed the issue.

    Question about MIDI block bypass?

I figured out my issue with tap tempo isn't with FM3. It is with my controller (Morningstar MC8). The MC8 has several double tap and/or release functions where you can do different commands with the same footswitch. Because of this, repeated fast taps don't always send a command because it...

    Question about MIDI block bypass?

Yes, I agree it's pretty standard. Just not documented in the manual. That's what confused me at first. I assumed it was a toggle behavior rather than a on/off. Now I'm trying the setup the tap tempo. Again the manual only states to assign a CC number. No value specified. My trial and error...

    Question about MIDI block bypass?

I'm trying to turn on/off individual blocks via MIDI. However when I assign and send a CC message number, it only seems to bypass the...

"Fixed MIDI clock sync issues" 👍 Thanks :)
  36. tjontheroad

Fixed BPM on the FM3 jumps 250 BPM and is locked there when receiving midi clock

For simple delays, it's no big deal to set the timing manually like the old days. For sync'ing LFOs and sequences, it's a must to work in lock step. That is where USB MIDI is also very helpful (to say the least).

Fixed BPM on the FM3 jumps 250 BPM and is locked there when receiving midi clock

Last time I clocked sync'd, I got it to work with MIDI DIN only. But, USB had to also be disconnected or it double clocked to the 250 max BPM. So no FM3 Edit at the same time  It does seem buggy IMO. That said, I haven't extensively tested it. I was hoping USB MIDI would be...

Anyone use the No-headphone-jack FM3 with headphones yet?

On most mixers yes. Unity is where there is no signal cut or gain at the preamp input stage. Check your mixer’s manual. On the pic I posted above, you can see a marker “U” on the gain pots. That where unity is on my mixer. I have it slightly higher in the photo.
  54. tjontheroad

Anyone use the No-headphone-jack FM3 with headphones yet?

Mixer gain should at unity. FM3 output gain should be at whatever headroom that doesn’t clip mixer input.

Bogner Shiva FX8 Channel Switching help?

When using FX8 with my 6L6 Shiva, I use both relays with two cable runs to the amp. IIRC, relay 1 is used for channel switching + boost with a TRS cable. Relay 2 is use the reverb on/off with a second cable that can be TRS or TS. Then, I program the relays within the each FX8 scene I’m using.

Question - FX 8 midi switching

If you're using MIDI control, you shouldn't also use the footswitch. This will possibly cause the default amp parameters to change and unexpected (likely opposite) things will happen when receiving MIDI commands.

    TC50 & FX8 Users - Talk Me Down! LOL

The Kingmaker is a step up with ODs and especially fuzz. It’s an amazingly flexible pedal. I haven’t placed it into my rig yet though. 72. tjontheroad

What type of FX8 rig are you running?

I use the Drop mostly for bands that play in or specific tunes played 1/2 down. I'm too lazy to retune lol. The Freqout is crazy fun with the TC50 red channel. Leads that sing forever. You gotta try it
  73. tjontheroad

Yeah, I just got a Source Audio Kingmaker Fuzz. It sounds way better than any FX8 fuzz. I'd love to use the MIDI preset recall, but I can't do that and control my Mesa TC-50 because of the only PC per scene limit.
  76. tjontheroad

Wish More MIDI PC and CC commands per scene

Having only one MIDI PC and CC command per scene is somewhat limiting. Competitive products can do up to eight. I have MIDI controlled amp and I'd like to add a couple MIDI pedals with FX8. Using the MIDI block takes up space that could be used otherwise. FX8 needs and should have more per...

Finally part of the club! - One small concern

You're better off using the balanced XLR connections or S/PDIF rather than humbuster cables into your Saffire interface. Humbusters are meant to use with an amp FX loop.
  86. tjontheroad

    AX8 + FX8 the "the killer app"??

Me too. My AX8 is tied to my FRFR rig and my FX8 is tied to my amp (Mesa TA30). For me, they serve different uses at different times. Trying to put both on one pedal board would seem to be overkill IMO.

Very confused about FX8 Edit v1.6.0

The reason is because you can assign relays to individual footswitches as well as controller assignments. So it's more than X/Y FX and scenes. It is a bit confusing at first I agree.
