AxeManage - muting all sound when auditioning to scratchpad.

make sure your cab block is not muted upon disable of the block. I had same issue and this resolved it.

I had a micro boost with my old rig and really loved it. I use it a lot in the AXE as well and it is pretty spot on if memory serves, perhaps a little better even as you have much more control over EQ etc.

Cab Block tone trick (to fix any tone issue you've ever had)

Interesting indeed. I tend to use the room parameters as it does sound more natural to me even when it is not really heard as a reverb affect. I'll have to dial a little more in and find the sweet spot, thanks for the setting recommendations. I learned this from time spent in actual studios...

I totally agree. The outer most settings on tone knob was not very usable but the center 3, oh yea. I would add the DC-30 back into my arsenal if that were the case. Its pretty good on the existing but I do miss the other channel.

good to know. I'll try using cable in the front method and see if there is a difference. I use fuzz pedal a lot for my lead tones and know that it can make a big difference in sound if they are not first in line for an analog set up. I'll report back my findings. thanks guys for continuing...

I use 3rd party too but love a LOT of the stock cabs. Sometimes the stock cabs just sit in the right spot. Honestly if there were no 3rd party IR's I'd still be very, very happy with my AXE II

I've never used Reaper, Logic Pro for me but, try recording both ways. Depends on the sound your trying to achieve. There are times when I want just a nice wide tone but want it to sound a little more locked in timing wise and I'll record both at same time. Other times I like the variation...

Delays and reverb .... Parallel or series ?

parallel mostly. More like what you get when you send dry signal to mixing board then use sends to FX buss. Not sure if it matters but sounds less cluttered to my ears.

World's simplest/reliable MFC for Axe-Fx other than FAS MFC

I use Decibel Eleven Switch Dr. It is a bit of a pain to program too but it is small, very tough (all metal) and has other features that can be nice to have as well. One note though, if you are using an expression pedal you will want to plug it directly into AXE-FX rather than the Decibel...

For those playing out, who is using a minimal number of presets?

1 preset per song usually for a live set. I have a very small pedal controller (4 button) and 1 expression pedal so I do the same as some of the other guys, use 1 button to enable/disable multiple blocks at same time. If I really spent the time I would probably realize that a lot of my presets...

I'm in total agreement. Each time I open the beautiful black box I am happily surprised. This product must be reverse engineered alien technology!! Thanks FAS for such an amazing piece of gear!!! I'm about 2 years in and I still find new and wonderful things to do with it.

I have found too that placing a fast compressor, like 1176, on the insert and then add another slower compressor, like maybe a 3A, on the buss can catch any lingering spikes. Just "kiss" the signal on the slower compressor. This helps a lot. EQ is essential prior to the compression though in...

Beta 7.02 Too Easy???

ok, thats it. I have never loaded a Beta before it came as general use but you guys talked me into it. I'm always using the Vox type amps. thanks guys!

Question for Cliff about headphones

You could also build a preset template with any of the blocks you want and import that for new preset builds. All you have to do then is replace the amp/cab blocks with the ones you want for that preset and save. tweak later if you want. Works for me in building new presets. So many ways to...
