Channel switching a 6505+

Hello folks. I am diving into new territory (bought a tube amp) and want to use my axefx 3 in 4CM with a peavy 6505+ head. I did search for other threads but I didn't see anything conclusive (I may have missed something) I am trying to figure out the best way to be able to switch patches...

Issues with the screen on Axe Fx 2

I have this issue also. I ended up buying a new screen and new ribbon cable after reseating the LCD cables were not improving the display. I then reseated what I believe is a power connector, its a white connecter on the mainboard. This resolved the issue.

Buying used Axe FX II as a Beginner, good idea?

if you can, then do it. a. I found I made a lot of progress playing wise simply because the play feel was so much better than the line 6 stuff i used to playing on. No dig on line 6.. still respect them but the tactile feel and tones from the axefx really helped me to refine some picking...

Pretty sure I saw a video with him talking about the axe and he didn't even use the editor. IIRC, he just tweaked a factory preset a bit and voila... so ya, I think he coaxes that tone out of pretty much anything he puts his hands on.

This I did not know... this is probably the solution. I will try that later Thanks!!! After going over the wiki and the manual, I am thinking that output 1 is the only output that will mix the computers audio (DAW/Youtube etc)

A tender little ballad

Your mix sounds good. The reference track has more pump and honestly, more obvious drum bus compression. There is more body to your snare, and more splat to the JP kick drum. As far as guitar tone, you have a nice tight tone that is similar in freq response to Jps. JPs has more of that mesa...

This is reasonable. It is also not so easy to demo the AXEFX reverb on a drum track/bus ETC.. I'm sure it can be done, but probably more difficult than a demo of the plugin. ********* the audio demo's however do sound great. I sincerely hope this is another successful product line for FAS

its easy to summarize for me... I don't care that the tone comes from software modeling, or an amp. when you have that lovely tone.. you learn lots about how to play the instrument.. which helps you improve your tone... The axefx has done this for me and I am still giddy...

Differences between the Axe FX II's

I don't think the 2 will be obsolete as long as Fractal is in business. The modeling is so good now (especially Fractals) that the idea of the next generation making the current generation irrelevant just no longer is the case. Many (even in this thread) suggest this may have been the case...

As much talk (and deservedly) about the Helix good looks, there is definitely something very ..mm.. Fractal Audio looking about these. There is definitely an potent aesthetic here. That picture totally makes me wish I had one.

Axe on sale, buy new or used

You may be able to find a couple hundred dollars to save with a used one, but with the xl+ on sale it might be harder. I'll say this. If the axe 8 was out when i bought the axe 2 I probably would have got the axe8. Knowing now what the axe 2 has Im glad i didn't. I thought id not really...

Is the Mk2 going to be considered out of date now?

im stuck on FW18.. and ive only had it a few months. as soon as I finish the song im working on ill put quantum on it. Which is damn cool that the thing evolves. I get the impression that the Axefx 2 line will likely have the same basic life cycle. Maybe im wrong there but they said that...
