    How important is the preset exchange for a new user?

    i would agree. out of all the presets I have downloaded, I only use a few every now and then. however, what I find more helpful to me and what I do use a lot of is the effects settings. reverb, delay, pitch, chorus, etc.. I steel them from the axe change presets and place them in my own.

    open up the folder on your computer where all the cab files are, open up axe edit and go into axe cab manage. from there you can select all the cabs and drag and drop them into the user slots. theres a good how to video on youtube on doing this. im sure someone will post the link for you.

    I think if you were using factory cabs, they did not change. If you were using user cabs, it got switched probably because there are 20 new factory cabs. Most of mine that changed got back to the correct cab by turning 20 clicks to the right to compensate. But not all.

    i just went through the same thing. my issue was that the notes almost had a muted sound if i played them fast or hard. i would agree with first answer that it is a gain thing. i lowered drive on amp block and raised the gain on a drive block.
