Do you create presets tailored for each guitar you own?

I do, yes. I have some varying styles of guitars... some get patches that other don't have. But I Taylor to the guitar.. I have the space for it, why not? They each still sound unique even with a preset tuned to it. And it's magic!

^^^^ this. Run it as admin, should work fine. If you've upgraded you windows version multiple times, could have permissions issues like this. Taking ownership of the offending folders would permanently resolve your recurring permissions issues.

Guitar Volume rolled off and the AXE FX II

I love the roll off sound I get with my axe FX II. Sounds like the real amp to me. I came from a mark V as well. All sorts of usuable tones to be had. I have my MV around 4-5 depending on the amp model.

Fractal has mad it easy with their drivers. Just uninstall them from the programs and features where you would uninstall just about any application. Then run their driver installer and follow the instructions and you should be fine. This used to be true, but as with any software, it may be...

Issue since update help...

It *IS* a beta firmware, if you've unplugged it and plugged it back in and/or restarted the unit(s) and it still occurs, then perhaps this is a bug

So, I've only had my unit (huh huh huh) for a few days now. My fingers hurt... But not I've finally got into trying out my own patches with the amps. Want to try all of it! in real amp terms, I've been in the Mesa Mark series camp, Mark IV, V, Triaxis, IIC+ etc.... however... I keep coming...

What Amps/Speakers with Axe FX II?

I have a peavey 50/50 that's pretty flat with the resonance off. Problem is the cab will color it. Using it as a preamp with the cabs off sound pretty damn good. I'll have to try it with the cabs on and see how it sounds... There's always headphones :D

Cab Packs

So, I've been reading all these post about this and that cab pack. I'm excited to get my AXE FX (very close!), but I'm a little worried, are the stock cabs that bad? Will I NEED to worry about getting cab pack to get the full enjoyment out of the unit? Are the stock ones just filler?

Axe-Fx II "takes over" my soundcard

While I have no experience with the axe fx, I do with windows. In the device manager you'll probably have a driver specifically for the audio part of the usb interface... under Sound, Video and game controllers, you should see the one for the axe fx. disable that and see if the rest still works.
