    USB Firmware V 1.15 Release

Actually that does make me think of a similar possibility with my setup, I have our main PA power amp on the same power bar as the Mac and Axe and it does seem to coincide that I most often lose the Mac output to Axe at rehearsals, which include powering up that large amp just before we begin...

    USB Firmware V 1.15 Release

Yes I can concur that on my Mac mini I'm still experiencing issue #2, the usb output is not switching to other channels, it just stops outputting. My DAW tells me that the audio is leaving it fine, there is correct activity on the output meters of the DAW but the Mac output goes silent.

    Wish 2 quick wishes..

Just because I know that on the Axe it would be designed better, implemented better, and would work better than on any other device that does the same: 1) Poly tuner 2) Real-time feedback controller (for my mando, acoustics and Dobro). Yes I use parametric EQ, etc but real-time response...

**HELP** - USB audio dropping out when using AXE Fx III as audio interface

I have the same issue with my Mac 2020 mini M1. After being on for a few hours (or days) it stops seeing the AxeIII as its audio interface, a reboot of the Axe always fixes it. I assumed it was a Mac issue, I made sure everything under 'power' settings was set to 'never sleep' but it still...

    Converting latching switch to momentary?

I think this thread has run its course. Not really into the 'baitandbicker' thing. I hope the information might prove useful to someone. Moving on now! Cheers Lou

    Converting latching switch to momentary?

Update... Ernie Ball does have the 6168EB mono pedal with the switch wired directly to a jack on the front.. however I don't know if the switch is a DPDT like the 6165, if it's a single throw switch (open/closed) then you would not be able to use the method I discovered to SIMULATE a momentary...

    Converting latching switch to momentary?

Yes again you're correct. This method that I've discovered and that is working perfectly is best described as: 'Taking a latching switch and allowing it to SIMULATE a momentary switch's action, by having both/either state of the latching switch repeatedly trigger the same event/action in the...

    Converting latching switch to momentary?

Well I bet it could someday.... just sayin'... Anyway turns out I don't need the soldering iron, I did connect the other pole of the latching switch to FC External switch 2, set both external sw1 and external sw2 as 'Follow Hardware/normally open-momentary make', assigned both external switches...

    Converting latching switch to momentary?

Thanks, I found one in my junk drawer that should fit. However I would repeat that it is possible to have software turn any latching switch into momentary by detecting the transition instead of the switch state, and generating a trigger every time any state change is detected. I believe the...

    Converting latching switch to momentary?

Ya may end up there.... Thinking it thru, that last idea has one fatal flaw... Every time I switch patches, if the switch on the Ernie Ball is already sitting in the state of the wrong scene, I'll have to hit it twice to get into the correct scene. Not a show stopper but annoying So... ok...

    Converting latching switch to momentary?

Hey I just thought of something that I'll try when I get home.. Instead of trying to use 'scene toggle' on one FC footswitch for switching in and out of solos, I will split up the scene selection... use one FC footswitch for direct selecting my 'normal' scene and another FC footswitch for...

    Converting latching switch to momentary?

Hi all, searched around but don't see the answer to this one... I have an Ernie Ball 6165 volume/switching pedal with the added built-in 'tap left' switch. I modded the pedal so it's an expression-only pedal am using it successfully for amp volume via FC pedal input 1, andI have also wired the...

    Preset +1 on FC6 switch

Update..I only need 4 presets for tomorrow's gig so I just assigned the top 3 switches to 'direct preset select' + the preset number, and that's working great. However using the exact same procedure, if I try to set any of those switches to instead 'preset +1' it's non functional.

    Preset +1 on FC6 switch

Yes I assume I'm on the correct layout/page because the mini display above that switch shows the name of the first preset in the group after I assign the '+1' function. However pressing the switch just reelected the same preset over and over. If I change the range to 0 -511 it works but...

    Preset +1 on FC6 switch

I'm trying to set up a simple 'preset +1' switch on my FC6. I set up the parameters in Foot Controllers,. Set the fields to Preset , --- Incr/Dec---- +1- - - range to 400-404 (or anything for that matter) and when I got the FC6 switch it always just sits on the same preset. When I go back to...

    Fixed 3.02b Tuner Display Bug

I'm still having this issue, when I use the heel-down tuner, the Performance page on the display retains small portions of the Tuner elements flashing on the screen once I return the pedal to normal usage. Is there a fix or a workaround that I missed? Thanks

    MIDI compatibility question

I wanted the smallest possible footprint onstage but still with a lot of versatility and control options. For me the MorningStar MC6 Mkii and an EB Expression pedal do the trick. The AxeIII is rock solid with Midi, there's nothing I haven't been able to access, control or do. Response is fast...

    Austin Buddy's ToneMatch Acoustic

Another stellar wonderful surprise from the AxeIII thought I'd share in case it helps anyone else. Most probably already know this so forgive me if you already do but for anyone who hasn't tried it, you gotta. I've been using my AxeIII on acoustic as well as electric: I've just got a basic...

    Setting levels in each block

Hi, been at the AxeIII for a few weeks now, getting to know my way around it. Love it of course. In my setup I switch between several stringed instruments: acoustic guitar, mando, lap steel, electric guitar, banjo. I am building multiple presets for each and loving the results. However in...

Wish Value knob: Shortcut to Perform Screen

Wait.. hold the presses.... when I set one preset to Perform Screen and change presets via external Midi pedal, it DOES stay in Perform Screen mode for each preset I select. D'oh! Sorry didn't try that sequence of actions until just now.... all good! Man I love this thing.

Wish Value knob: Shortcut to Perform Screen

I would actually love to see a global choice where I could ask the Axe to default to 'Perform Screen' on all presets. That would be perfect for me for live. I could turn it off for programming, rehearsal, etc. but would love that to be front and centre always when onstage.

    Axe-Fx III Firmware Version 10.02

OK my turn... just got my III last week. I sold my beloved Ax8 to move up to the III. I originally had the AxeII, but somehow I just never bonded with it, and turned back to real amps for awhile but that got tired again quick, with maintenance, inconsistent performance (tube wear/bad AC power...

    FW10 / Gain Enhancer Reflections

Understood. Interestingly, our gig volumes are quite low, usually small pubs and venues, so to be able to get that cranked amp sensation at very low volumes is great when we do a song that requires it.

    FW10 / Gain Enhancer Reflections

Agreed, I sold my Axe8 last week, got my new III fired up yesterday and have had a few hours of importing/tweaking my existing presets (mostly clean/edge of breakup) and the Gain Enhancer is adding something nice to every amp I've tried it on so far. It will take a bit of live playing and...

    Different amp settings per scene?

Hi, another new-ish user here. Had the II a few years back, sold it to a friend and bought some amps and pedals... after enough $ and frustration that never got where I wanted tone-wise I'm back to Ax8, and loving it. I've had 2 weeks of very happily setting up my Ax8 for stage use and my main...

    Input Select

Interesting... Maybe I should revisit that comparison. I did do a side-by-side and the Ventilator just had more depth and dimension, the Fractal still seemed more like a Doppler/pan effect. But I'll have some fun and do a closer look. I sure would love to not have to haul that one extra pedal...

Input select in AxeEdit I'm using the Axe for both keyboards (Hammond B3 on a Mac via USB in to Fractal, great tube tone for the Hammond) plus guitar onstage. So I'm switching between USB in (Keys) and Analog/front panel in (guitar) constantly. Requires crouching down back at the Axe in the...
