MP3 Player in a Pedal?

I load samples on a DITTO+ It's not perfect (potential to overwrite your sample) but it is small and works great. You would have to turn the dial for the next sample as well. I'm also considering getting a Switchcraft audiostix 318BT XLR and incorporating that to just play from my phone...

FM9 & FR12 - Lost In The Mix (Help!)

as stated above........ just like in the studio - for your guitar sound to "sit in the mix" it can (and almost always does) sound very different than what you dial in by yourself. I would focus on the midrange and the low cut first.... the louder you are, the more you might want to try to cut...

FR10 and FR12 are probably the best bang for the buck right now.... there are cheaper options that you could try out (like the headrush) but they aren't that much cheaper and they are noticeably harder to work with when dialing in your desired tone. The only other option I would look at is a...

Did a comparison between my FM3 and a Quad Cortex

FWIW the very best tone I could get out of the QC was a capture of my FM3 😝. It did sound perfectly good enough for live. I wouldn’t record with it tho

Need a MP3 player in a foot pedal.....for live sound bites between songs. Anything?

Give me an FR410 and I will be pleased as punch. My HotRod Deville 410 is my favorite form factor.... loud enough to hang with 4x12's but easier to move around. I wouldn't know about the technicalities that would go into it for FRFR, but if Laney can do a 4x12 maybe there's hope :tonguewink:

I'm looking to upgrade from my headrush.... but a "must have" is the ability to speed up or slow down the loop to a tap tempo (without changing pitch). Not sure if that even exists. I have an electrix repeater but it is on it's last legs.

I've been to a fair amount of insanely loud shows (metal/doom/etc) but strangely enough the loudest show was HUM in the early 2000s. Maybe I got directly beamed from one of the speakers or something.

Laney LFR-412

I have the Laney 2x12 FRFR cab. It's great. It moves air. It doesn't allow you to load IRs. I don't think I'd use the IR loading feature, unless I was doing some W/D/W. I have suggested/wished for a 4x12 FRFR before...... and got a resounding "no" but I guess Laney gonna Laney.

This. the TMP is a 400-600 dollar modeler at this time. Maybe with updates they can bring it up to be worthy of the price they are asking for. By the same line of thinking, the FM9 is probably the best bang for your buck in the fractal lineup.

I gave the IR-200 a shot to use for a backup rig and TBH it was not a good experience for me at all. I'm tempted to try this for the size, but I know I'll probably get burned again. Currently using a tonex capture of my FM3... but I'm starting to think that the only decent backup for my FM3...

I have an FM3, GT800FX... I used a 4x12 occasionally but also 2 2x12's as well for stereo. It easily kept up with the rest of the band for live performances. My only advice would be to dial in your settings separately for loud/live tones than what you have for headphones or quiet practice...

A good player can make most anything sound good, or at least OK. I spent a few weeks trying to get something decent enough from Positive Grid's bias platform and TBH I just wasn't impressed. Personally, I won't be getting anything they do in the future. That said, if you like it... go for it...

I think we will see a major product release very shortly from fractal!

Fractal's current lineup is super competitive - especially when you find out they have the most accurate modeling, period. My favorite thing to do is watch Fractal artists get GAS, and then come back to Fractal (this happened quite a bit with the QC).

right. but I don't want wedge options. I want cab options. I want a 4x12 FRFR cab. I want something loud for when I'm at a small bar that only runs vox through the PA. Going by sweetwater, there aren't many big players in the FRFR cab space. (Yes, I know frfr is frfr)

Amp/Cab makers seem like they are dragging their feet about FRFR. Who do we have - just Laney, Friedman, and Line6 ? Seems like an opportunity for PA companies to make FRFR cabs to compliment their wedges.

Is there any chance/way that FM3 could be upgraded to turbo?

I listed my FM3 immediately when the turbo was announced. There was a bit of a gap where I didn't have one (thankfully no shows). You should have seen the look on my bandmates faces when I came to practice with my backup ToneX board and told them I sold my FM3. o_O
