it’s a shame. They got me with the EVH Stealth and all the officially licensed stuff. It’s my favourite amp. But the red channel is still bugged and doesn’t sound very good. Can’t return mine anymore. Still hoping for the Stealth being in the fractal at some point in the near future.

What Amp Models would you like to see added?

EVH 5150 III EL34S! It‘s my favourite amp. The difference is more than just swapping power tubes. I’ve owned all 3 5150 fender iterations, and the EL34 is i.m.o. The best one.

The Stealth doesn't have midi. The Blue Chanel is not the Same as the red. From what I've read, The Blue in the Stealth uses the first gain stage of the red channel, but is still not a 2nd red channel. The difference of the "normal" stealth and the EL34 Stealth is more than just the power tubes...

The Friedmann Bis and HBEs aren't sounding wright for me. Here ist a comparison: Cygnus sounds fuller no doubt, but there ist some fuzziness. Hard to describe.

Love this Beta! My favorite model is the 5153 blue. That model never sounded so good. Can't wait to hear the 5153 red once it was fixed. I noticed the 5153 blue has a different input eq(low cut) than in FW15.01. Other big improvements for me are the Euro models, Splawns and the Atomicas.

I noticed this too. It doesn't feel as wet/liquid as before or the original. Sound like blocking distortion or something like that. The Blue Chanel is amazing in this FW.

100%. If you go to the I/O setup, you can only set the output level for output 1. Output 2 is designed for unity gain.

Even with the volume on full it’s not loud enough. There’s a light labelled “signal”. As I understand it, it flashes if the input signal is loud enough. When output 2 is connected, the light never flashes. Even with output 2 maxed out. I’ll adjust the preset output and see if that’s enough. In...

Yes, sadly. There is not enough signal coming into the Matrix. The Signal light doesn't flash. There ist sound coming out, but as soon the rest of the band kicks in, I'm not loud enough.

Still something odd with JVM after 5.07?

Hi, I postet a thread last couples of days about the JVM sounding weird. Cliff then updated the the FW (Thanks!). After updating I wanted to test the JVM. The Odd thing I found was that the JVM OD2 Orange model sounds imo normal. JVM OD1 Orange/Red and JVM OD2 Red still have that weird fuzzy...

It's the factory preset 44 (JVM OD2) on Scene 3. You can heart it, but if you increase the Gain past 5 it's more noticeable.

I had the same wish/idea. Maybe you wouldn’t need a converter, just buffers to handle the analog signal and let the axe III handle the conversion.

Sadly no. The sound isn’t just other output tubes. They did something else. It has more gain than a normal 5153 and it has some be 100 qualities. The notes are squishy and tight in both gains channels. Very nice for single note stuff. When I palm mute, the whole room is shaking. More than with...

Thanks for the reply! Thought it was that. I think with the Loadbox coming out soon, wouldn’t it be nice to have a Fractal plug-in that lets you tweak some of those speaker parameters in conjunction with IRs? Like a Cablab on steroids. That would be the whole package.

Hi, Good question. As I understand it, there is no global ideal setting. It depends on what cab you’re using. When I’m looking for the right frequency, I usually stop when I have the feeling, that the cab is resonating. These parameter is most important imo when I use a real cab and the matrix...

Don’t know. It’s the whole power section imo. Have been able to get similar results more with tweaking the be v1 than with tweaking the 5153. It’s pretty good, but not quite the same

I hope we get the EL34 model at some point soon. I had the standard, own the 100s and the EL34. The EL34 is the best imo. Has a be100 thing going and packs a huge punch

Hi, thanks for all the replies. I tested again today, and connected the Axe Fx directly to my mac. And all worked fine. Before it was connected to the USB-port of may Thunderbolt Display. Don't know what could be causing the problem there.

thanks for the replys. The crash only happens if I have an App with audio running, for example iTunes or a YouTube video on Safari while turning the Axe Fx on. That didn't happen before the upgrade to High Sierra

the ultimate axe fx headphones

I use the Blue Lola. The aren't as heavy as the MoFi since the don't have the headphone amp. The sound and comfort are great. I like them better than my Bayerndynamics 770

The Hum that will not die......

If you are using the 4CM, the manual says: Guitar-TS-fx8in-fx8 pre out-humbaster cable-Amp in-Amp fx send-TS-fx8 post in-fx8 post out-humbuster cable-Amp fx return In this setting I had a rest hum. When I reversed the cable, the hum was gone.

Thanks, didn't know it even existed! Always thought it was an eventide thing. Heard Vai use similar tones. Thats why I thought it was just effects.

Hi! I have no clue on hoe to get this tone. Any help would be appreciated: What kind of effect ist that? I hear the compression, but have no clue on how to set the pitchblock for the rest, or if it's possible. Thanks in advance!

The Hum that will not die......

try connecting the cable that goes into the input of your amp the other way around. The hum buster cables that I have, have a blue and a black end. With my amp the hum goes away if I connect the blue end to the input of my amp and the black end to the out pre of the FX-8.

Playing an Axe/FX II Has Ruined NAMM For me

My thoughts exactly. I bought the Axe Fx II XL 2 years ago, and since then no amp or pedal. I still have my EVH 5150 Stealth, cause its my favorite amp, and have the FX8 for it. I hope the 5150 Stealth is going to be modeled at some point, then I will go full digital.

EVH 5150 III Stealth Hum

Hahaha X-Mann, sorry for the misunderstandin. I feel so silly. I was in another Room today, and there was no hum. Everything work very well and sounded expectacular. My favorite feture is the transparency of this unit. 0 tone suck. Thanks for all the help!

Hi! Thanks for the replies. The amp by itself doesn't hum. If I connect the FX8 as PRE only or POST only there is also no hum. Only in the 4CM and weirdly enough, if I reverse the Humanster cable that goes into the input of the amp, the hum gets louder. Not the case with the Humanster cable in...
