You know it was a bad cable.......the kicker was I changed all the cables and it still didn't work , so then I changed them all a third time and it did. So then I worked backwards to find the two bad cables....

Axe backups w/MFC mark3 connected?

Most people will say to unplug the MFC. I can't say for sure if it matters or not. But I always unplug mine.

I was able to get it worked out. I used the metronome in the DAW to create a 2 measure count in. I then drag all the tracks into the grids and mute them until I get the click track that karaoke version supply's with each backing track lined up. This has to be eye balled as one of the other guys...

Umm lets see , line back up. See I'm not an expert with the lingo. What I mean is this guess when I buy the track the click is there and I just put each track in its own chan in my DAW. Whit there click it all lines up as in , the intro click counts off 1,2,3,4 and then the track starts like it...

Best wheeled case for Axe FX 2?

The Axe Fx costs a couple grand, and while it's made well I don't think dragging it around is the best idea. I'm sure you will be careful but you are bound to run over a few bumps and rocks along the way and I'm not sure it's worth the risk in my opinion.

For those of you that go direct to the PA.. do you also have your own FRFR solution on stage?

I personally use a EV zlx in the back line and I use IEM. The EV is there if I need feedback or just so I can make sure my tones sound the way they should but it's not very loud. I have a buddy who only monitors via IEM so it depends on your needs.

Wish VU Meters on Axe-Edit

Yep this would be a great thing to have. It would be cool if my VU meters would also stay up on the Axe when I move to a new preset while I'm leveling. Having to also re hit the utility gets old when your leveling a bunch of presets.

I agree with Al, Don't go second hand MK I or MK II. They are out of room and can not be updated with new firmware anymore. If money isn't an issue go for the XL+ if you want to keep the cost down the AX8 is a great unit and sounds just like its big brother.

I haven't had a chance to check it yet but I can imagine it's going to come in handy. This is basically a live set up to adjust without having to cary a laptop. Since I control my X32 via iPad this app makes so much sense for me.

Yep that is exactly what I did. Plugged the Yamaha into midi in and out. Turn on my Axe Fx. Load midimittr and pull down clients and there is nothing listed.

No I didn't do that. I would think I should just be able to see it in the list in midimittr but it doesn't show up. I'm going to guess there is a setting in my Axe Fx that needs to be changed. But am not a midi guy at all so I don't know for sure.

Did you buy it used or new? If it was used consider a factory reset. You never know what the person before you did. If it's new then like posted above adjust your gain and go from there.

transporting the MFC 101

I mounted mine a pedal train 2 that came with a padded soft case. Works well enough from gig to home etc.

What amp and cab are the cleanest with no distortion added

Maybe give a couple other amps a try? The band commander is pretty clean and I use the Suhr badger 30 and it is very clean when you back the gain down.

Lower Input drive and then raise the level to compensate. Start there.

I'll just echo what a few have already said, the XL+ or the Ax8 is the only way to go at this point. Aside from all the difference in functions. The one glaring issue is future updates. This point can not be overstated enough. Cliff updates this box a lot sometimes more than once in a month if...

I should mention that all those are Axe Fx II files that will not work on an AX8 but if you download Fractool you can convert the patches.

Oh yeah I gotcha, I don't think so in terms of just a collection of pedals. I know if you go to to the Axe change and find Danny Danzi Van Halen patch that bad boy has all of Eddie Van Halen's effects in that preset. The Mxr Flanger and Phase 90 as well as the delays and chorus are all there.

If I understand you correctly, if you download the owners manual it will tell you what each parameter is. Make sure if you are using the Ax8 with an amp that you do t use a speaker IR. I don't know if there is anything really that will tell you set your chorus like this and it will sound like X...

Switching exp pedal to control drive block's gain and wah

I'm not 100% sure but I'd think you would need a pedal like the mission SP-1 that has a button.
