    Welcome! I would take some time to browse the forum and check out what people say about both units and decide for yourself. Many people still use the Ultra and love it. Many have the II or XL or XL+ and swear by that. It's extremely subjective.

    I have always had a hate/hate relationship with interfaces, so much so that the Axe being it's own interface was a major deciding factor when I purchase it. I have used it via usb into my iMac and have yet to have a single problem and would recommend it 100%

    I didn't bother to read the other comments but I voted yes. Not at first though.. I had to re-dial in my ENTIRE main preset but once I did it sounds even more authentic and real.

    Boxes From Equipment Purchases - Save of Discard?

    I save the box if it is an expensive item or I know I will be selling it eventually. Although I save most boxes I find it hard to save all the packing materials. Foam pieces I try to save but no packing air bubbles.. those are all popped immediately.

    Is the Axe FX 2 the same sound quality as the XL?

    I chose the XL because there is a lower noise floor ("secret sauce III") and a built in back up firmware in case of anything weird that could happen when updating.

    I think it would tick a lot of your boxes especially if you worked sort of close to where you live. Rush hour is particularly maddening coming and going from that area. I personally prefer Venice but you really can't go wrong living in either area if it is in your budget.

    Thanks for the update! I would suspect a lot of the standard profiles/presets of both the Kemper and Axe show different tone possibilities but would need to be tweaked to be perfect for the user. Very subjective, but that is the point.

    I use the Mission head as well and love it. Looks great and is well built. You can pop out the mesh for an extra 2u of space. Be sure to get the full version and not the short version if you decide to go this route.

    Well certainly don't sell the PRS and I would think long and hard about the Les Paul. It might just be better to buy anything new out of pocket, could always flip that if later you needed.

    I personally am a minimalist and unload everything immediately unless there is sentimental value. I think it's a very personal decision though and is different for everyone.
