Issues making P90s work with Axe-Fx

I use instruments w/ pretty big differences in signal level. If I set the input level very low when using an instrument that needs a boost, I hear a pretty big difference in tone. If it's supposed to sound the same, why is there such a big difference? I'm talking about the difference between...

    MacBook or iMac

I would hold off on buying a Mac, especially if it's an M1 model. There's some videos on YouTube (Louis Rossmann, as well as others) that show that the M1 Macs basically kill your SSD by using it as an extension of your RAM. The amount of reading/writing that would normally take years is now...

Replaced Stock Fan In My Early Axe-Fx III - Results Are Very Impressive

I hardly hear the fan on my Axe-FX III. My laptop is much louder, but that one's five years old. The PC I built early this year has the potential to be almost silent, but I usually run fans at a higher speed. If I put it in silent mode some fans will hardly run, some will come to a halt. The AIO...

Is this a filter sweep/bit crusher/fuzz combo at the beginning of this song?

Wait, try playing low power chords on the F# and B-strings. Then pitch them UP by 1 or 2 octaves using a Whammy. You might need to use the Classic algorithm to get some of those artifacts in there.
  21. GrindcoreHank

Is this a filter sweep/bit crusher/fuzz combo at the beginning of this song?

Have you tried using a ring modulator? You might need to run it a a low Mix Level and then run it into a fuzz, but it could work. Some of the artifacts also remind me of a Whammy pedal.

Anyone sell all their tube amps?

No and I'm not planning to. Yes, the Axe-FX III is convenient and it sounds great. However, I still like to utilize some of the unique behavior of 'the real deal' and I also like experimenting with mics and mic placement. No IR is going to replace that for me.

Running 2 amps in stereo, at gigs

Check out this video by Ken Andrews of Failure: I tried out some of this stuff and it works nicely. The only downside is that the slapback delay eats some of the attack of your guitar tone. However, for a big wall of sound, this does the job.
  53. GrindcoreHank

Do you stand up to edit your presets?

I run different sample rates. Most of the stuff I record/mix/master is done in 24bit/96kHz. Also, the DI signals of all guitar/bass recordings are tracked with the Apogee before I hit the Axe-FX III. This way I can record a higher quality DI in case I want to reamp with a tube amp. The...
