Gemini 1 question

Im considering picking up a mission gemini 1 cab. Any major differance between the active and passive one? I have a matrix gt1000fx power amp so i could save some cash and get the passive one unless thats too much juice. Just not sure how that amp wouod pair with it. Thoughts?

How do I create a distortion tone?

I eventually sold mine for this exact reason. Seemed like every amp had to have a drive pedal in front of it to get a decent amount of gain and not be super flubby in the low end.

Mess around with the low frequency speaker resonance in the amp block speaker page. Maybe use the looper to record your riff and let it play back while you sweep the frequency and see if it helps, and report back with your results.

Those sound better. I have used the low cut parameter before, but not to that extent... usually around 100 hz. I would have thought that much more than that would sound too thin. Ill twist some knobs when I get home today and see how things work out.

I use a low cut in the cab block around 100-120 and low cut in the amp input EQ around 200-300. only works with some amp blocks though... like the mesa lone star, or diesel vh4 for example is unusable no matter what I do

Thanks for the quick response guys... input 2 is the same, ive tried 3 cables. I did order a new one from sweetwater that should be here friday, but the 3 I used are quality cables (Mogami gold) so im not too hopeful. Room is big, my pc is set up in my living room, which is open to the kitchen...

first thing I would do is put it in some kind of case to protect i. I use a Gator 2U rack bad and its pretty much perfect. Keep in mind if you want to use a seperate power amp you may want to get a larger case to accommodate that. I use active speakers, so 2U is all I really need.

Funny way to mess with the audience / amp snobs....

So I have decided to get on craigslist or ebay, purchase a super cheap Gorilla amp (the worst looking one I can find) and set it up on stage with a dummy mic in front of it. Looking forward to the bewildered looks from the guitar players in the audience..... I have a warped sense of humor btw :P

Ordered a Xitone wedge

I havent got it yet, but ill let you know know when I do. Mick was backed up a few weeks when I ordered. I spoke with him this morning and it shouldnt be much longer.

Ordered a Xitone wedge

well.... i sold my qsc k12 the other day and ordered an active Xitone wedge. Really looking forward to it. The wait is going to kill me lol Mick was every bit as good to deal with as everyone here said he was btw.
