I am new and Thinking about getting the Axe-Fx II XL+ For Black Friday or should I?

For headphone monitoring, I utilize a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro 64 ohm (your current set) in conjunction with a Mackie Big Knob monitor controller. I prefer this pair to the numerous headphones in my collection (AKG 270, 240DF, 240- AT ATH-M50 and others) for its superior translation to...

    AX8 plus H9

Ytolyccuz- have you read my reply to your inquiry in the "Show me" thread? At any rate, I suggested that you insert a stereo output splitter between the H9 output and the Ax8 stereo return (input 2); however, given the ambitious objectives stated within this thread, I recommend the following...

    My Ax8 froze mid-gig

I have witnessed the following behavior: the AX8 is rendered unresponsive upon receiving MIDI clock when utilizing either an H9 (set to transmit MIDI clock at its output) or a MIDI Solutions footswitch controller (in tap tempo mode) as transmitting devices.

    Stef Carpenter and firmware updates

Though the quote in question does not seem dismissive, Carpenter is his own man- although Koi No Yokan is on constant rotation in my car, I would not utilize his opinion (nor that of any other guitarist) as a basis for evaluating equipment. At any rate, unless in the process of recording a...

    Apparent UI Complaints

In addition to an XL and AX8, I own an Eclipse, a few Lexicon units and several other devices which utilize monochrome displays and "utilitarian" UI. These interfaces are child's play- for professionals. By and large, far easier to comprehend than the humans who complain about such matters...

Buy that new guitar or the AX8?

Though I await an AX8 invitation, it does not appear to be forthcoming; therefore, I have purchased three PRS guitars since 12/8/15: A NOS 2001 Singlecut, a 1996 CE24 (with birds) and a 1992 Custom 24. The NOS singlecut was unused, never registered and procured from its original PRS dealer- I...

Fletcher Munson curve effect on amp modeling

IMO, all curiosity is valid (for it is the curious who learn and thus evolve), however, some explorations may amount to fruitless errands... The FM curve will indeed influence choices made by preset designers; in all likelihood, only to the extent that it improves those choices, as FAS...

Fletcher Munson curve effect on amp modeling

Bricasti M7/Design System 4. Lexicon PCM96. Eventide H8000FW. All are "flagship" devices that utilize utilitarian displays. The AX8/AxeFX II display is in good company. I do not claim to hear a difference in tone, nor do I defend any assertion to this effect. I typically set...

Startling discovery... for me at least...

-This has long been the initial step that I perform when altering factory presets: I separate reverb effects from the sound of the amp and cabinet via a parallel feed, as I prefer that amp and cabinet components are louder than anything else. Setting the reverb mix to 100%, I then increase its...

    RAC12 - New 1U rack controller for Axe-Fx II / XL
