Well you've just described my Recto now whereas on beta 2 it was real tight with a nice fizz. Such a difference, now flubby and horrible. My Das Metal patch went horrible as well! Getting there with the Severe now though, been tweaking today!

Fractal Newbie learning to use the Axe FX II needs some direction

Not sure if already answered, but in axe edit, tools menu, "axe-manage presets" will allow you to select a range of presets and cut / copy / paste. Makes it easy to do!

Yes to 1 & 2 though I don't always pan full left and right. I didn't use EQ blocks in the end, but would EQ the sound in the mix using the advice given earlier in the thread. I didn't use any reverb on the guitars. I would if recording melodies or lead though. Since my guitars are usually...

On paper this sounds like a great match for me, detuned, high gain - but I can't get it to sound good!! Does anyone use this and have a patch to share or any tips on cabs to use / settings? Also tried the Savage and had no luck there either though I've heard the real amps live and they sound...

Sounding good on my cheap speakers! :) I would agree slightly too much drums for me too. That's what I've been doing - moving the song over to the other PC to play it but all the back and forth and changing EQ without knowing if it's going to work or not is getting annoying! How do you guys do...

Where do you real cab and power amp guys run the output 2 knob at?

i run stereo into the matrix and max out both outputs on the axe then use the matrix level controls as required. I think this suits the way the matrix unit works (its an attenuator) - if you did that to a PA you would probably blow it up lol.

I think with only the monitor outputs you can only "offline" reamp. Nothing wrong with that of course just a little more time consuming. I like the idea of being able to hear the mix whilst tweaking your reamp tone.... Then hitting record! It's the 2i4 for me or a much more expensive audient...

I haven't noticed any hit on cpu other than the usual usb hit (which I always have because I can't use the front panel well!) Really not convinced on the need for a re-amp box. This is done for the volume level is that correct? If so, the box adds very little from what I can see, just use...

No hes just reamping the dry signal back to the axe and recording the result back in the daw... if you want to hear it in the mix you need to "monitor" the other tracks without feeding them back into the axe, like this guy explains:

The focus 2i2 converts the audio to 44.1 whilst the axe uses 48k. I haven't the best ears in the world and couldn't really spot a difference. I uploaded both the tracks so u can listen to the difference yourself (#88). Let me know if u want any more comparisons doing as I have the 2i2 until...

Appreciated. Was expecting drum comments - took about 30 secs to put the beat in so it can definitely be improved a lot - and as for the EQing.... I haven't a clue what I'm doing - there's a compressor on there but it's probably setup all wrong!!!

it has Drive > Amp > Cab > PEQ (all those twice... running parallel) Then merges into GateExp > PEQ. Neither cabs have dephase or motor drive values at all. There's a little room dialled in but its the same on both cabs. MV is 4, I'll try dropping gain a little thanks

How to get this 90s thrash metal tone? (Heathen - Victims of Deception)

Sounds great, good job! :) The patches don't sound good on my setup though... what configuration of the blocks did you use? were you using the drive , TM, cab ?

Behringer fcb1010 prom newbie
