Latency compensation and recording via USB

So if I have firmware ARES 2.0 I shouldn't be experiencing this? If so is there a reason my DI signal is not lining up with the wet signal when I record to a DAW using USB?

Latency compensation and recording via USB

I know there has been discussions on this in the past, but I also know things of this nature change with software updates and such and I am just not up to date with where we're at so can somebody explain to me if there is still issues with correct latency compensation when recording the AXE FX...

DI track not time aligned with processed track when recording into DAW

It seems to be around 40ms from what I can tell But are you using the analogue outputs on the AXE FX? That's not how I am recording I am going straight from USB. Here is a picture showing the waves. The top track is the DI signal the bottom one is the processed signal.

DI track not time aligned with processed track when recording into DAW

Just a quick question. I am noticing that the when I record with the AXE FX (II mark 2) using the Axe FX as an interface and recording through USB, the DI track is always lagging behind the processed track. It seems that the DAW (Reaper in this case) is compensating for latency with the...

Please help! Expression pedal not working :(

Another thing to add is that when I use the exact same method with my DAW to change scenes on the AXE FX it works. I do this by sending CC# 34 with a value of 0-7 to change between scenes 1 to 8. So the communication between DAW and Axe FX is working but for some reason I can't toggle the...

Please help! Expression pedal not working :(

No. The CC# are being sent through an Expert Sleepers USAMO unit (https://www.expert-sleepers.co.uk/usamo.html), then going through a MOTU Midi Express XT (https://motu.com/products/midi/xpressxt_usb) and then via a MIDI cable to the MIDI input of the AXE FX. I confirm that the AXE FX IS...

Please help! Expression pedal not working :(

Does the fact that my MFC is still attached mean that it could be doing something to prevent the DAW from controlling the AXE FX?

Please help! Expression pedal not working :(

Definitely using delay 1 and the MIDI channels match. Both the AXE FX and the CC message being sent are on channel 15.

Please help! Expression pedal not working :(

Oh wow thanks so much that was it. I had changed the CC# coming from the pedal when I was using it with my live rig and had completely forgotten about it, I changed the corresponding controller CC# on the AXE FX and it worked... Now just one more question. I am trying to turn certain fx blocks...

Please help! Expression pedal not working :(

Hi everyone, I have come across a little issue that is doing my head in. I have an MFC 101 MKII which I use both as a generic MIDI controller to controll my live (non-axe fx) rig and as a dedicated controller for my AXE FX II MK II in the studio. I also use a Mission Engineering XP pedal for...

    Recording wet/dry signal with spdif?

    Bingo, that's what it was.

    Recording wet/dry signal with spdif?

I am also finding that the AXE FX is crackly through S/PDIF whereas I get no crackling noises when monitoring through analogue or recording through USB. The crackling sound definitely is there and gets recorded along with any audio I record. Anyone know why this might be happening?

    Recording wet/dry signal with spdif?

Apologies for resurrecting an old threat, but can somebody confirm if the DI signal you get through this method (using 1 side of the S/PDIF stereo connection) is the same in terms of signal quality as the one you would get by using output 3/4 through the USB connection? My understanding is the...

Recording DI and wet signal through SPDIF possible?

So is it possible to record both the DI signal and the wet signal using the SPDIF connection? I know that the SPDIF connection gives 2 channels of audio, one left and one right, is there a way to pan the wet signal to one side and the DI signal to the otherside and then select the corresponding...

Does anyone know if there is any way to change the level of the main analogue outputs without changing the USB recording level?

Any chance of getting more colours?

Is there any chance of getting at least a few more assignable colours for the Amp block list and cab block list? The current available colours are far too few and I rely on these to organise my amps and cabs and it seems like it would be something that would be very simple to implement.

    ASIO drivers not working help!

Hi Forum I am just trying to record something with the AXE FX into my DAW, and the ASIO drivers are not working,I cannot select the inputs on my DAW's settings. And it gives me an error when I try to use it. The AXE FX itself is working fine, and the AXE Edit software works. The only thing is...

Am I not understanding something about the ring modulation block here: http://wiki.fractalaudio.com/axefx2/images/5/55/5.28_Ring_Modulator_-RNG-.pdf It says that: "Each Axe-Fx II preset can use two fully independent Ring Modulator blocks." I only see one ring modulator block in my...

    Expression pedal behaving weird

Thanks for that, guess that makes sense and I can always run in parallel which is good to know... My only other question now is I dont fully understand what input gain does on the delay block. I had one patch that was clipping and I turned the input gain down to about 25% and the clipping went...

    Axe edit won't open!

Hi Forum All of a sudden when I tried to boot my Axe Edit this morning I get the error "the version information could not be queried" and the Axe Edit won't boot. What is wrong here? Expression pedal behaving weird

But that wouldn't be the same thing, it wouldn't replace the dry signal with the wet. Also regardless, if I leave the MIX say on 25% and not even control it with the expression pedal, once I switch to a scene where the delay is turned off and the "MUTE FX IN" bypass mode is selected then the...

    Expression pedal behaving weird

Ok I just realised that it is due to the fact that on the scene that I was controlling parameters, the expression pedal was controlling one of the delay mix levels and the delay was set to "MUTE FX IN", which is what I need it to be set to if I want delay tails to ring out, however when the...

    Clock sync with DAW

    Clock sync with DAW

Another issue that I just became aware of after sorting out the above issue is that now everytime I start or resume playback in a project where I am sending MIDI clock data to the Axe FX for the first two bars (presumably when the Axe FX is syncing to the tempo) the audio of the guitar drops out...

    Clock sync with DAW

Ok I seem to have it all worked out now, decreasing my soundcard's buffer size a bit helped and gave me consistency of tempo throughout a whole song that I was previously getting fluctuations of 1BPM in random places. So its basically a buffer issue it seems.

    Clock sync with DAW

Further to the above, after tweaking some MIDI hardware options in my DAW (allow multi threading for MIDI hardware messages, and disabling low latency on the output with the clock data) I have managed to get it to the point where it is accurate first time, every time. Only minor issue now that...

    Clock sync with DAW

Firstly I am not sending anything through USB as I am not using the Axe as an audio interface in the DAW. Also have disabled that particular output in the list of devices in the DAW. Mission Expression Pedal setup question

Thanks mr fender thats what I thought. I tried doing this with scenes but once you assign a controller to a parameter in one scene then it is assigned in all scenes. Distortion-to-clean scene spillover?

I have just bought the MFC 101 and am going through setting it up with my AXE FX and I must say I am rather surprised at the way spillover is integrated it seems extremely unnecessarily convoluted. I come from using a G-system and while I understand this does a million things the G-system...

hum when axe fx is in AMP FX loop only

Hi Forum Just a few quick questions about hum and humbuster cables (possible discussed previously but I couldn't find answers so here I started a new thread) So I am planning to run my Axe FX in the loop of my amp (although I am leaning more and more towards ditching my amp all together...

    Routing question

Ok so let me see if I understand this correctly, I can actually route the "return" inside Axe Edit in a way to feed the first row and set the first row to the right hand side of output 2 and out to my amp's FX return, this way I get the signal which has gone from the second row into the Left...

    Routing question

    Routing question

But output 2 was going to be used to send a signal into my soundcard for processing before it was returned to the Axe FX and into the amp's return loop.

    Routing question

Ah yes of course! I totally forgot about the left/right routing possibilities! (still trying to get my head around all this).
