I think that the point is that we may be approaching the point of diminishing returns with the current trajectory of firmware updates. While it would be great that the product achieved 100% fidelity to the amps that it models, given that we may be at 98-99% for most amps, it stands to reason...

If you buy active speakers and the power section blows, you have an expensive set of doorstops. With passive speakers, when the power amp breaks - you can just get a new amp, or you can even get a new amp when you just feel like it...

Decisions....tube or solid state power amp?

I use a Carvin TS100 (with power sims on) and I think sounds better than my Matrix GT1000FX (which I then sold), which, in turn, sounded better than a Mesa 50:50 (which sounded good, but made everything sound like it was Mesa-ized).

Just bought the MIMIQ pedal, and I am trying to do this. On the pedal - where do you keep the dry and effect knobs? All the way to the right? It does sound big, but I find that the replicated signal loses its warmth and tends to make the sound quite sterile - how are you fixing that?

No. No Effect Loop. I don't think it's preset specific, it happens on every preset. i just noticed something else. If I turn the Axe-FX off and back on, and I don't turn on my Matrix GT1000FX, the levels seem to be fine, but when I turn on the power amp, the levels get messed up - any ideas?
